    Inauguration Parties

Ha! I always mentally sing God Save the Queen when My Country Tis of Thee is played. I actually teared up at the National Anthem during the ceremony though. It really was a great day.

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

I saw Wonder Boys last night and disliked it. It was trying to be a neo-screwball/"independent flavored" film but it felt very forced. Too bad since it had a cast made up of many of my favorite actors including Tobey Maguire, Frances McDormand, and Robert Downey, Jr.

    NYC's Film Forum

What a great lineup! I saw Platinum Blonde ages ago and I loved it. I think Robert Williams would have been a big star if he hadn't died so young. I'd love to see Lawyer Man but I'd especially love to see Easy Living on the big screen.

    Spam

My mother grew up in Austin, MN aka the home of SPAM. The town has really tried to use the SPAM connection for marketing purposes--the SPAM museum and the SPAMjam. I've passed the SPAM museum (housed in the former home of KMart) but I've never been inside and I've purposefully avoided visiting...

What was the last TV show you watched?

Alone in the Wilderness--I've seen the last half of this at least a dozen times and I can never seem to catch the start of it! I'll have another chance tomorrow night. "In 1968, Richard Proenneke (1917–2003) chose an idyllic site at Twin Lakes in Alaska's Lake Clark National Park, cut...

    What are you wearing today??

The light sweater gently updates the vintage suit and I love those boots Paddy. You're the past master of looking smart while travelling. Everyone else looks marvelous too but I'll stop making individual comments lest I spam this thread more than I already have done.

Love the shots of red/burgundy in your outfit and that hat ribbon is so nice.

    What are you wearing today??

Such an adorable outfit! The fabric for the blouse is lovely and I've got that pattern but I haven't made it up yet. Your example makes me want to start a project. Also, those glasses look perfect on you. Brava!

    Oscar Nominations

Your thoughts? I thought it was another fairly lackluster year for film. I was surprised at how throughly Revolutionary Road was shut out. Also, Robert Downey, Jr for Tropic Thunder? This has got to be a career nod. I'm rooting for Sean Penn, Kate Winslet, Heath Ledger, and Viola...

I love seeing how the vintage patterns look made up, thanks for the photos! Kamikat, any chance of getting a closeup of the top of the dress? There's a lot of detail there on the pattern envelope. Love that shirt Lady Day! Those buttons (and the button card) are fab too.
