GOK, your children's nicknames for you are so cute. lol I took to calling my mother "Marmy", like in Little Women, and "Mamagirl" like in William Saroyan's Mama I Love You.
I'm still new, though I've been chatting it up around here. Found this terrific place through vintage hair and makeup communities on LiveJournal. My interest lies mostly with the 1920s and 1930s, and I've recently discovered the joys of silent film / pre-codes. :) I'm 30, work as assistant...
My name is Jennifer, so I get called Jen a lot. "Jenny" is for my cousins, they're the only people I let call me that (except for the occasional one from my SO). When I worked retail I was called "J.R." for my initials (and because there were other Jennifers there! lol). My mom still calls me...
This site comes up all the time, but when it comes to finding retro cosmetic shades, they're indispensable.

Heh, I was just thinking of wearing a nice pink this weekend, too. ;)
Lady Day, this brings to mind those cute kitchen towels that'd tell you what each day was designated for:
The "Dishtowel" Schedule
This vintage towel has a "T" for Tuesday - complete with ironing motif.
I've already sung the praises of NYC cosmetics, so I'll refrain from repeating myself...just go check them out. I don't think any of their products are above $3.
Moisturizer / Body lotion: CVS (storebrand) baby lotion. Asborbs quickly, leaves no greasy residue and smells lovely. About $2...
Exactly. Even though it's a velvet track suit, it looks clean, stylish and put-together.

I have to admit, I'm another of those track suit ladies. Though lately I've been wearing white or black palazzo pants under a tunic shirt - my version of the dress-and-lounge slacks combo in my favorite pic of Jean Harlow:
What I'd really love is a set of beach pajamas! :)
I don't know! :rage: Though I did attempt "Rome". (Yeesh. lol)
For weeks after Carnivale was cancelled, I walked around saying "But 'Stacked' is still on the air!" :eusa_doh:
I adored this show. ADORED IT. It was my absolute favorite and was cut down in its prime. Brother Justin was such an interesting, complex character. I miss Carnivale. *sigh*
I live in a small town on Long Island, and it hurts to see the destruction done in the name of "progress". I (along with other community members) tried to save our single-screen movie house built in the 40s, but it was gutted and currently is a showroom for boats. :( The day they took the...
It's not quite a remake, but "I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown" focuses on Rerun, Linus' little brother. For me, it lacks the charm of the original specials and I don't like it much.
The "Great Pumpkin" and "Christmas" specials, however...those are like childhood in a box. I adore...
