I know that if I set my hair when it is too wet, I end up a frizz ball the next day. I wash my hair as usual, condition, apply a setter (I use beer) and allow to air dry for awhile. While my hair is still slightly damp, I then use pillow rollers.
I use my rollers every night...so much so...
I was JUST thinking about this same thing before I saw this post. I set every night and while it doesn't take too much effort, I wondered if I should take the plunge (again...used to have a perm regularly in elementary school!) and have it done again.
I'm hoping that the technology of the...
CherryRed...thanks for the link!!! I'm very intrigued, I might pick up a jar of the cold cream the next time I'm over the mountain in Target.
miserabelle...are you acne-prone? I'm walk a fine line between horrible breakouts because I'm too dry or too moisturized. If I get this once my...
I tried this look via the tutorial and I really had fun! It really creates a fantastic look. Love it!
Side note: Lorac did a Eye IT kit that included a balm/gloss to go over the two shadows in the palette. It was a few years ago and they are discontinued...but it was a fun palette. I...
I've been using beer as a setting lotion for the past few days. I wash my hair as usual and poor half a can over my head. It smells like beer until it dries. But I tell you...it's been working like mad for my curls the next day. My curls stayed in ALL DAY yesterday.
I've heard two way of...
What an interesting topic! I was just thinking about this!
I've been setting my hair every night and my BF just asked me if I was tired of doing it all the time. It's actually not that intensive of a process and as of recently, I know I'll thank myself in the morning. I have simplified...
I saw this when I was in Target across the mountain (our nearest Target is 30 miles away).
I haven't read any reviews, or I may have snatched it up. Anyone tried it?
I'm curious to know if oily skin can use it. I'm having good success (knocks on wood) with Pond's so far.
It's called Moon Works. There are a few online retailers. You can buy direct from the website or do a google search and find some secondary retailers...
www.moonworks.org
I cannot attest for other retailers as I get mine directly from the company.
I have used both the lavender and the...
My name is Annie Mae. I'm currently residing in a little mining town in northern AZ. Everything here is vintage, including the house I live in (built 1935!). I'm 29 and currently work in land use law/planning/administration. I'm an archaeologist by trade, but working in a National Historic...
I use a made-by-hand (still commercially available) laundry powder. It only has sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), borax, pure castille soap and pure essential oils in it. I only use a little bit (2 tablespoons) and it cleans really well. Plus it doubles as a stain remover when mixed into a...
I was named after my Grandma, who was born in 1922. Her name was Anne Mae, but my mom named me Annie. I'm Annie Mae (sounds more southern than vintage...haha).
My porn name would be funny...since my cats are named Seamus and Cheeto.
My burlesque stage name was Daisie Wilde, and I've...
I have a friend who stayed at Shady Dell..they stayed in the boat. They loved it! I'm planning a trip back down to Bisbee and hope to stay at Shady Dell rather than a regular hotel. Last time I stayed I was in the Copper Queen. Wish I hadn't had the room above the bar on Halloween...
I really hope I get some copies, or at least access to the images. I'd love to have a copy...but maybe I should wait and see what I look like. Who knows...haha.
I am excited...the shoot is scheduled for next Wednesday (the 8th) assuming the photog can make it. I'm mainly excited to get my...
WEN is a cleansing conditioner, sold on QVC and in the salon started by the creator, Chaz Dean. While it is in no way a new concept...I think he was the first to market a cleansing conditioner.
I saw an infomercial and decided to buy. It really is fantastic, especially the other styling...
I know this is an older thread, but I had to post!
I have been using Pond's cold cream, Thayer's witch hazel (Rose), and Nivea creme (just around my eyes). I used to spend hundreds on skincare (money I didn't have...it went on my <gulp> credit card).
Well, the other day, without makeup on...
I used to use WEN, it was really fantastic...but lordy is that expensive! I am very much willing to find a cheaper alternative. I will be picking this conditioner up the next time I head to the store!!!
Oh goodness! So, to answer the question posted to me earlier, no I don't have pictures...but I hopefully will soon!
I went to a family function (not my family, the sig. other's family) this weekend. I dressed in a calf length wool skirt and a short sleeve blouse with modest heels. I had...
I must say I'm a regular bath girl...nightly in fact! I do not shower anymore. I find that if I shower, I never take a quick one, and I actually save water by taking a bath. Besides, there is nothing quite like sitting back and relaxing in a tub at night versus standing up, yawning, in the...
For those of you that wash and set a few days later, what do you do in the interim before you set?
And does anyone out there with oily skin/scalp get away with washing less often? Sorry for all the questions...I'm learning so much here!
I know it is better for your hair not to wash so...
