So I'm caving and ordering this from Sally Beauty. I've had too many pin curl sets go floppy by the end of the day.
Does this make your hair sticky at all or cause your skin to breakout?
I haven't been using anything to set my hair.
I used to frequent many beauty and skincare forums which took a pretty toll on my pocketbook. I'm embarressed to say how much I spent in one haul on skincare that was such a waste of $$! I was using a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, eye cream, acne medicine (two different kinds), night cream...
I have tried Vitamin C serum, both homemade and store-bougth versions. The homemade version was by a lovely lady who made wonderful bath, body and skincare products.
I broke out horribly from the VC serums. I'm not sure if it was just a purging period that I could not bare to get through or...
The next time I stray from my beloved Cold Cream and Witch Hazel, someone tackle me! Ha ha.
I have (alas!) been putting my vintage routine aside for the past several months. I got lazy, stopped sleeping in pin curls, and well, just got wrapped up in the modern world!
I'm turning 30 on...
My skin loved the cold cream/witch hazel routine, but I found that it was ruining my wash cloths, even after machine washing I couldn't get them all the way clean, perhaps it is the mineral oil in the cream...what am I doing wrong?
Am I not washing them frequently enough?
Edited to add: I've...
It's been awhile since I've posted, but SO excited to see you on here!!! I'm a HUGE fan and a subscriber to your youtube channel. Your tutorials are fantastic!!! Your instructions are super easy to follow and I have had such luck with my hair because of your videos.
Sorry...just had to say...
I actually thought so too when I saw it for the first time last year. It wasn't until I spritz it while I was tooling around the Chanel handbags that I stopped and said "WOW! That's not the usual No. 5!!"
:D
I tweet. I guess that makes me a twit :)
I just recently joined the fad. At first I didn't do much with it, but it has actually put me in contact with some friends from the past. I mainly update from my blackberry, which also allows me to keep in contact with facebook. Yes, it's...
I have a jar of Ponds and a jar of Noxema (just for the instances of skin misbehavior as previously discussed).
My skin is doing quote well...though I'm very tempted to try Boot's Original Cold Cream.
A side question: Ponds seems to be affecting my wash cloths. I have a feeling it is...
I must share. I was in Scottsdale at Saks on Saturday and came across the most delightful fragrance. I was utterly surprised that I like it so much!
Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere.
Absolutely amazing! I'm not a huge No. 5 fan, but this I had to have!
The jasmine comes through much more clearly...
Oh my GOSH what a darling thread! I'm bookmarking it. I'm so giddy looking at all these great pictures.
I have a few of my grandma, but they are on a DVD. I don't think I can remove them (it's a photo montage from her memorial service).
It was that DVD that inspired me to go vintage...
Very interesting article...although I do drive a Land Rover to the grocery store. It's my daily driver...
Where on the styleforum??? I do love a good discussion...
I had never heard of this procedure until you mentioned it. Now I'm dying to get one! I highly doubt anyone near me does this type of thing, but a gal can dream...
Oh goodness...my hobbies!
Burlesque and roller derby are my two biggies. I'm currently in the process of starting a roller derby league here and it's taken up quite a bit of time! I have a fabulous sewing machine I'm just dying to try out on some vintage patterns. But I do suppose that I...
Most thankful for the positive comments...boy it is hard to get used to the unmarried thing after almost a decade of being with someone. My greatest feat is overcoming the sense I've failure I've carried as a result of the divorce.
I'm trying to look at it as simply one act in the play that...
Perhaps I am the ultimate pessimist of the group. I used to think I knew what my ideal was and thought I had him for 9 years. My first reaction is to say that my ideal wasn't an ideal at all. However, I would be lying if I said so.
But overall, my ideal was my ex-husband. Extremely...
I got this too. I used to use Besame many moons ago (4 or 5 years) but haven't recently.
They still have very little available on their website...at least compared to what they were offering before.
One thing I very much wanted from Besame was the compact. Never did buy one, even when...
Laura, so gorgeous! And your attention to detail in your curls is inspiring. I would like to ask if you have a model number or description for that fantastic hairbrush. I'm on the Denman site, but I cannot tell which brush you have.
I'm due for a new brush and I love how you show the...
I just discovered Jean Patou's Joy. While I only have the EDT, I do plan on upgrading to the EDP, though I hear the pure parfum is the only way to truly experience this fragrance.
I do know that some feel it smells old and dated...I prefer "classic!"
Absolutely exquisite and a new...
