I gotta say that all the latest images are awesome! And rabbit, not sure you're my size, but if you are and ever want to get rid of that charcoal Knox Twenty, let me know. :D
I just mean that at times there isn't much in the way of competition for size 7, but I really don't find the styles that I want in my size very often either. I also really wasn't expecting to win this one because my top bid was only $41, and I know they've been going for at least 3 times that...
Ok, not exactly sure how, but I just won this Stetson Whippet for $41... hope it looks as good in person as it does in the auction. Its open crown still, with no signs of previous crease, so I' guessing it was reblocked, unless somehow it was never worn.
Hope the links works...
Not to mention that with a good dry Martini, you're not supposed to taste the Vermouth anyway. The best dry martini is made as such:
Shake 2 1/4 oz of chilled Gin with large ice; pour 1/2 oz of Dry Vermouth into the glass, then swirl, and immediately pour out; then strain the Gin into the...
That's the real value in this group; everyone had to start somewhere, and everyone gets something different out of the community. I personally don't have any piece of clothing dating further back than 1970, and my oldest hat is from the 50's, but I'm finding my own style from what I've learned...
I'm looking forward to this as well, partly because I used to live in Gettysburg and had a bit of the Civil War in our daily lives, but also because not only is DDL a great actor, but Joseph Gordon-Levitt is great, too.
The Packard looks to be from 1939, as the 1938 and older models have the side vents in shorter sections, so I'd agree at least 1939 if the car were new. There does seem to be a little wear at the base of the top and along the bottom of the door, so it's more likely that it could be a few years...
If you're asking about the Champ, the larger images appear to show a welted edge; either an overwelt or Cavanaugh style, but I'll need to see it in person to confirm that.
I posted this in the Champ thread but wasn't sure if anyone was looking recently. I just picked this Champ up for $30 on etsy (looked like a decent deal, perhaps only needs some good brushing and maybe a reblock), should arrive next week. I'm not sure when it's from, and I don't know much about...
I've been fairly happy with Doctor Who until the recent season. It's almost starting to feel forced... that said, I'm excitedly awaiting the introduction of the new companion hoping that it will re-invigorate the series. David Tennant was the best of the three doctors since the 2005 relaunch...
So I've got a question for those Champ guys out there. I just picked this one up for $30 on etsy (looked like a decent deal, perhaps only needs some good brushing and maybe a reblock), should arrive next week. I'm not sure when it's from, and I'm not sure what the Kasmir finish is, but it...
