Thank you for your reply. I've gotten locked into that situation where you say to yourself "This show kinda sucks, but I've got to see how this plays out" mode also. Usually, I'll try to jump off after the end of the season resolves whatever has caught my interest. SOA is cartoonish in so...
Yeah, installing the elevator would be cost prohibitive for most of us. I also was surprised at how little screen time they gave to excavating around and waterproofing the exterior walls of the basement; that's major money and time and I think that they gave it less than 15 seconds on screen.
The above and your past postings on SOA make it clear that you REALLY don't like the show, but from your critique it's apparent that you watch it pretty closely. I'm not going to defend the show (personal taste is just that), but with all of the programming choices available what draws you to...
I believe every character on SOA is slated to be killed or jailed. As far as originality, they peaked a while back. Jax turned into everything he despised and is heading for a bloody ending. The series ran about a year too long. But I'm in till the end.
Amen. I like the look of porkpies, but they just don't suit me. Had to buy a few to figure that out. But the nearest true hat store to me is Henry the Hatter in Detroit, a two and half hour drive. For the price of gas, a meal and five hours of my time, I'm better off taking a chance making a...
When I first started getting interested in hats, I bought a few wool hats that I liked the looks of online. They were inexpensive and allowed me to find out what style of hat really suited me and like Greyryder I got to see if I'd wear them. There just aren't any hat shops in the Thumb area of...
Christopher Scroggins - When you say "very, very big" it usually does not turn out well when altered.
Lufftwaffles - Very sharp looking coat. I used to have a USAF wool overcoat similar in style that I really liked, but I passed it on as it was just too tight in the shoulders. Plus, it was...
I agree; I was just trying to be facetious. What I was trying to get at is I find it bothersome when a character that the public has grown to know suddenly has some new "history" created to bring some tension or drama into a storyline. I know that they are fictional characters, but I know them...
Carrie 1976 - is set in the fall/prom season. To me, it's not so much a horror story, it just leaves me with the sad feeling that Carrie never really had a chance in this world; that she was doomed to a sad, lonely life. Heck, it's her mother that kills her.
Phantasm 1979 - I will readily...
A-10 Thunderbolt II (aka Warthog). It went into service while I was stationed at 57th Combat Support Group at Nellis AFB. They don't look like much on the ground (hence the name "Warthog"), but they can maneuver very well, are heavily armored and can flat bring it with their weaponry...
Of the new shows, I've watched Gotham since it started. Engaging, moody, fairly well acted. When I was a kid I had no idea Gotham was such a pit. Given a choice, I'd move to Central City. Metropolis is too big town for me.
I bought one after the factory closed at a substantial discount. While it is not my best or my favorite hat, I like it fine. Again, for the price I paid for this fedora new with box, I feel that I got a bargain.
Zombie_61 - You're right, of course. I also remember the more "conventional Carlin" prior to what I consider to be his prime. Carlin must have realized that playing a hippie and doing pot jokes were dated heading into the latter part of his career. And I'm sure he looked for a way to...
rjb1 - I know that the tools of engineering and design have changed, for the better I'm sure, it's just that the drafting board is one more thing that was pervasive in my younger days that has disappeared and will now be found primarily in antique shops, storage sheds or landfills. I'm not a...
