I know this is not the place really, but has anyone else just watched the series finale of Doctor Who?
And if you have, is it really HIM as the new Doctor? If so, then.... wow, I'm impressed!
When I was a teenager in the 80's I often wore a trilby and my mum told me off, saying it 'will make you go bald'. !
Actually, the bleach and back-combing nearly did that, the hat was blameless!
Tom Cruise seems a nice enough chap. Not the worlds most interesting actor, never likely to worry Day Lewis or Bale. Just quite bland.
I'd like to see hem 'act' his age, or older, become more of a character, but I think that would be difficult when the shine from your Hollywood gnashers is...
L'Occitane is quite pricey but lovely.
If you have flaky patches try using an almond oil and baking powder scrub. It gets rid of the flaky patches and moisturises too - and it's as cheap as chips!
To be honest though, it's very clear she has had work done. There is no late 50-something woman on this earth that looks like that naturally, I don't care how good your genes are!
That's not to say that women of this age and older don't naturally look fantastic - they/we do - but celebrities...
I remember when I first got satellite/cable and spent days and days watching the documentary or histoty channels. I don't think I have watched any of them for a few years as within 4 months I had watched all of their output and after that it was all repeats.
Thank god for the BBC, especially...
Your longline bra probably doesn't fit you because it's too small! It's too big in the body and too small in the cup, you have gone up and down (if you know what I mean!)
I must say that I'm a recent convert to the Doreen after I saw it recomended here. They are brilliant - great shape,really...
My skin is dry and can get super-dry in the winter. Cleansing at night with the hot towel method and almond oil works wonders. I then moisturise (I use L'Occitane's moisturisers). In the morinng I just use the hot towel on it's own with a little moisturiser.
Keep it simple. The less product...
My dad was a tail gunner on Lancasters at 17. He never talked about it and it was only after he died that his partner told me that he suffered from terrible guilt over the people he had killed. I keep meaning to get his records.
Hello all and thanks for your reccomendations - I haven't been on for a while!
I know there are a lot of books out there about the War from a military perspective but what I was really asking about was something like a German version of 'Nella Lasts War'. Just how ordinary women and families...
Do you know, I genuinely can't imagine you in modern clothes at all Tuppence. You have the perfect face and figure for your era, you really do look exactly like you have stepped through a time tunnel!
The oddest thing I've seen recently was a George Formby film from the 30's (I can't remember which one, they are all so alike), where he's riding motorcycles, could be the Isle of Man TT. All of the national flags are flying during the race, including the Swastika. It looks so strange to see...
I'm 44 and I think that you can wear a 'younger' vintage style than a woman of your age would have worn at the time (does that make sense?!) as long as you don't go too cutesy. I wear mostly 40's and probably don't dress as a 44 year old would have back then but probably how a 20-something would...
Oohh, I have the white/floral version of that dress - unfortuantely I bought it at last Autumn and we haven't had a day warm enough to wear it since! The snow had only melted this weekend!
Heyday have some lovely stuff. I've just bought a couple of their Bow blouses in the sale and I aready have...
I'm a teacher and I just asked the Dept Head if we were doing anything for Comic Relief this year. Someones suggested staff fancy dress and he looked at me and said 'You could just come as you are.'
I gave him a 'look' and said, 'Well, Dean, I'm not sure how to take that!' and he looked Very...
