This past week has been so busy, I'll try to run down the different cigars I smoked. We had our annual New Orleans/Harang Ave. Spring Herf at my home. I had a couple attendees from this board, also of Cigar Weekly, who included Spiridon, univibe88, and StantheTaxMan.
Wednesday night, when...
WOW. What amazing stories, Warbird, but since you don't play dress-up and post photos, no one comments. Sorry to see that, what tremendous memories to have.
That's not something I've experienced. I haven't smoked many Punch/Hoto de Monterrey/El Rey del Mundo/Belinda/Consuegras lately. One of the most persistent "open secrets" or "persistent rumours" in the cigar world is that the unbanded Hoyo de Monterrey and Punch Rothschilds, in the box of 50 are...
This weekend I smoked two sample cigars for a Cigar Weekly blind review. I don't know what they were, yet. But they're lovely dark wrapped, not maduro, perfectos.
That's a nice deal, Ortega.
I find the Toraño Signature to be a medium-mild, especially compared to their Exodus 1959 line. If you didn't taste the cedary "notes" don't sweat it. Each smoker brings their own tastes, tastebuds, location, environment, etc. to the smoking experience.
What, exactly, are you looking for Ortega? You looking for a pretty desktop? Are you looking for something much more utilitarian, just to hold your cigars? What's your budget?
These are all factors to consider when deciding on this sort of thing.
I saw episodes of this years ago on PBS, as well. Loved it. I'd "discovered" Fry and Laurie in Blackadder reruns in the late 1980s. Saw this and we loved it.
We enjoy Poirot, as well, good mysteries, great sets and locations, and the hats.......
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice, James.
Here is the Thread about Dr. Ashley Morris
Getting together with friends tomorrow night, I received a nice sampler from another CWer this week, with some really worthy specimens, four from 2001 alone (Padron Anniversario Maduro Torpedo, Davidoff 5000...
Thank you, gentlemen.
There's a thread on CW in Close But No Cigar. I've added many excerpts from New Orleans blogs. The leftish bloggers of New Orleans are reeling from this, even a week later.
Dr. Morris will be laid to rest on Friday afternoon.
Lost another New Orleanian from Cigar Weekly, We dialed it back this weekend. I had a Padron 5000 maduro that I received a few years ago, when another CW friend sent me a box for Christmas. It's still a really good cigar, I think this was the end of those, though.
Anyway, spare a word to the...
That's something I'd like to do, too, CJ, bein's as you know people there, too. ;)
Let's see here, I got to smoke a couple over Holy Week. Holy Thursday night, the Men's Club usually "patrol the parking lot" for worshipers who choose to stay late. I had a "Top Shelf" that was actually pretty...
I've only had one CAO America, and I haven't had a Brazilia in ages. Never had an Italia. I saw a good friend of mine, who smokes almost exclusively, well, you know....he's a big man. And the CAO America had him in a sweat. Yet I had no trouble with it.
If you can smoke that Culebra, you can handle a CAO America.
Busy weekend, Friday night was a Carlos Tora?±o Exodus 1959 that must have had four years on it. Very nice, didn't knock me on my arse like it used to.
Saturday night brought what I THINK was a Juan Lopez Selecci??n #2. It was...
