very true! I've quit using regular shampoo some time ago for the same reasons. Now, I use sensitive shampoo or ghassul ("washing earth", can't think of the correct English term right now) and vinegar/water mixture. Much better!
I've discovered the retronaut page today and want to draw the attention of those who haven't seen it yet - it's really worth to have a look

This isn't exactly vintage, but quite vintage inspired. I just finished a Scotty hat, inspired by the Monkapone summer hat.
It's a bit more thirties than I hoped - I'm more of a fifties gal - but I think it's wearable, even with modern clothes as I do in the pic (excuse my non styled hair and...
tvwell, I don't usually set my hair more than twice a week, but for about three years now. I don't have the time/nerve to use a dryer, plus I'm afraid that ruins my (very fine) hair. I'll try the tension thing, thanks for this hint. At the moment, I'm not using any setting lotion, because all the...
That's great, thank you so very much for your effort! :-)
Apart from the direction, I do it pretty much the same (I set them in alternating directions, one row to the left, one to the right), but my results aren't half as nice.I did try it with all in the same direction, too, but that wasn't...
jamespowers - well then I'll take that for now. you look like a very sophisticated gentleman. To be around educated people sometimes intimidates me a bit. Can you help me?
I found an interesting article on abandoned suitcases of patients in a psychiatric clinic:

I know it doesn't really look like maternity wear, but the description really says:
235 - For the mother-to-be a becoming jacket. pattern 161
236 - a matching, easily expendable...
Thank you for your contributions, ladies! Getting the vanity table in shape and putting on some nice music really helps. In my new appartement, I found a place for a vanity table for the first time ever. Using my fifties hand mirror already makes me feel better. Unfortunately, the lighting is...
Just started my second try on Tortilla Flat by John Steinbeck. Some books sit for years in my shelf until I'm finally in the right mood. But I'm not sure if I'll really warm up to Steinbeck.

Can anyone recommend a good Android photo app? I got a used Xperia T for Christmas and I'm higly annoyed by the shutter noise which can't be turned off. So I''m looking for an app that can either make the Xperia cam work silently (without rooting) or an...
Sorry for the late answer, I haven't been on the board lately.
To me, it works well enough. But I must admit that I don't use it a lot - I plan way more than I really sew ;)
For heavy duty, a professional dress form might be a better choice. But if you're insecure, I encourage you to give...
