I do not subscribe to it. I'm sort of inherently anti-this. I'm much more from the John Lydon school of things.
The way I take the statement in regards to people is that 'weakness provokes others to take action for or against you...' it's akin to laziness and apathy, and if it is consciously...
It's a classic for being (sadly) sometimes necessary. I've done this twice at work and now I see people doing it from time to time.
Hooray for resourcefulness!
I have many. Mostly I seem to utilize:
"The only way through is through."
For when things are challenging.
"You can't go backwards through a brick wall."
For when regret threatens to set in.
"Ignorance isn't bliss, it's just ignorance." -Jesse Russell
I use this. A lot.
40$ a week for a single person or couple, definitely. A small family or people with babies have to consider things like diapers, formula, et. al. I think too we have to consider things like 1) single parents 2) families where members have multiple jobs and then time becomes the number one issue...
:offtopic: I agree with Miss Neecerie. The problem isn't that We have too much, it's that all first world nations have too much. The problem is actually in distribution, and nutrition. Those who live at poverty level in America buy what they can afford and food manufacturers aren't stupid. If...
I wonder if you could contact them for samples? That would be tragic if they no longer provide them.
As it is, if they ever stop making Bisque foundation, I'll be riddled with despair.
* Chicago Brick ice cream stopped being made some time ago, and I always miss it.
* Blueberry Cheesecake ice cream from the boardwalk in Port Dover, Canada.
* Fresh, Parisian pastries and bread.
* Frank-n-Stuff hotdogs made by Hormel in the 80's were terrifying and delicious at once...
Hi ladies,
A pal just pointed me over here for some really interesting jewelry finds (National Geographic. Who knew??). Not vintage, but some of it clearly draws from vintage, especially Deco, like this piece:

I shop and stock my house by what I won't allow into it, for obvious reasons of course. If something bad for me is here, I will think about it until I consume it. (Except I think that's changing because I found half of a chocolate coookie I had been saving in a bag yesterday that was long since...
Nice thread, Brooksie.
Women are still new to the wine industry. As little as a few years ago I would show up at trade tastings and be one of only two women in the room. In most places wine is still an Old Boys Club, and that has made it very interesting for someone like me. Often still, when...

Not even a regrettable travel partner could have dampened Paris in the slightest for me.
It's cliche how brilliant that city is, but it's my very favorite cliche. Being there, you realize how truly valuable to the world Paris really is. No words anyone says, no stories, pictures, films...
My .02
I just can't *not* pipe in with an industry perspective...
I'm not really sure what "snooty/snobby" places means. It sounds like a generalization, especially if the places are rarely or never frequented by those making the statement.
Mostly high prices occur in restaurants because...
