how much do you spend on tailoring

Interesting...I'm headed to my tailor tomorrow for sleeve lengthening on a sport coat. I'll let you know how much he's charging.

how much do you spend on tailoring

Welcome fil, I haven't found a reweaver in Milwaukee, but I'm also looking to have some repairs done. Results I'm finding online show $35 to $85 per hole depending on size & fabric. The shops I'm finding will allow you to ship your garments...I'm likely to drive to Chicago for this place...

"New' Jacket on the Way - eBay

Well done! I'm glad to hear about the fit. I, too, hope to one day stumble across across a deal such as this. Stylistically this one is nice and can be used with a plentitude of different ensembles.

Drivin' around today: Gene Krupa "Drummin' Man" & The Johnny Otis Radio Broadcasts. I cycle back to that Otis cd pretty often.

    What are you listening to?

Looking to relax tonight, I'm easin' it with some piano players. First, some Art Tatum solo & trio (with Tiny Grimes & Slam Stewart, yeah!) recordings, then, in a similar vein, Clarence Profit's 1939 solo recordings and his 1939/1940 trio recordings most noted for Jimmy Shirley's guitar. Also...

how much do you spend on tailoring

To be honest, I don't know what I pay my tailor. What I do know of Joe the Tailor on Lincoln Avenue is that I trust him; he always does exactly what I what, and shows appreciation for the work that I bring him. He's a good egg. I enjoy talking clothes with him; he enjoys the clothes I bring...

Is the suit relevant in your life?

I've been teaching high school students for 13 years. The last male to wear a suit in this school retired 10 years ago...I wear one 4 days a week, with the occassional coat/tie combo thrown in. Not because I need to, because I choose to. I also am the "odd bird." Teachers here feel free to...

Bing Crosby Christmas Radio on XM/SIRIUS

No satellite radio for me...but December was about 50% Bing for me, with the other 50% the other assorted 20 or so Christmas cds I own. I also made my yearly commitment to all of his Chistmas films. Christmas time is Bing-time at the Kools' house.

    crosley radios

I've got three of them, one 5 years old; others closer to 10 years old. They all work fine-no issues ever. As stated above, the sound quality is not the best, but that's what I bought them for. I have other components for that.

Great idea, Indy. Sweaters are great around here this time of year, but good ones are hard to find.

    Custom Hide briefcases

Wow...I'm sorry to hear about some of the problems you folks are having. I don't have pictures, but my bag (purchased March 2007) is problem-free. Good stitching, closes fine, good-looking initials; I don't use the strap so that's not an issue for me. It's not the "finest" leather I've ever...

    Repros v. Originals

I generally prefer to wear vintage, but I am not opposed to wearing repros. The decision comes down to a number of factors, none of which are usually price. I've found that quality repros of what I look for can often cost as much or more than an original. 1. Style & Availability. I know...

    90's Swing Book

I also have the book, and like it. I don't, however, alwyas agree with the author's perspective. The "scene" did also hit the world outside of California...although I always envied the quantity and sometimes the quality of the bands from the west coast. The midwest scene did evolve from...
