Oh, the Stigma of an Astigmatism. . .

Have I seriously managed to do an eye test wrong? Oh dear lord...

Oh, the Stigma of an Astigmatism. . .

Unfortunately it's my first pair of glasses so I have nothing to compare it to! At the moment I want to desperately not wear them at all. Especially in this heat nausea is no fun.

Oh, the Stigma of an Astigmatism. . .

I recently got my vintage inspired glasses from UK retailer "Specsavers." I am absolutely in love with them, but there's a few problems I'm encountering. a) while they make everything appear a little bit crisper and more HD (who knew that my "How to Marry a Millionaire" isn't actually that...

    Using a vintage bag everyday?

I go through little phases of using vintage bags over more modern ones. Sure, they may become a bit battered in the process, but I think it's simply important to be a little more careful with it. At the end of the day I bought these items to use and cherish. My mother always told me that "Sunday...

Working Out Killing My Hourglass Physique

Thank you so much for all your help and advice, everyone! At the end of the day, I think you guys are probably right- I'm not going to not be a curvy hourglass any more, probably just a bit of a tighter, smaller one! As for the gentleman discussing the merits and non-merits of a "hard...

Working Out Killing My Hourglass Physique

Hello ladies! I have a rather vain topic of discussion. A few weeks ago I hit a bit of a wall when I couldn't walk up 4 flights of stairs without feeling light headed so I've begun to run every other day and doing other cross training exercises on the off days. I feel miles better, those stairs...

    Interested in Burlesque

Ha! Just reading it made my blood boil a little and I think I'm reading this months and months later. Men, no matter how young, must really learn that it isn't up to them to police what women talk about. And really...I believe we've had enough policing of sexuality going on. No more needed...

    Sculpture Pin Curler

I've ordered this and am basically getting nothing but 80s style frizz no matter how much I brush out the curls! I have great results when I pin curls just with my fingers. Are these curls just too tight for me? Please help before I send it back :(

    The Middy Thread

It's not so much for the romantic nights as just for general cuddles. I like that down time after a long day where I'm just cuddles up and being held. Pin curl clips make that whole experience less than comfortable for either of us. She enjoys the outcome as well and even likes the look when...

    Recommendations for perm in London...?

As far as I'm aware Claire from Claire's Hair does a good perm and also specialises in cutting and setting hair the vintage way! You can find her on Facebook.

Ooh, I'm so glad you've said that. I hopped off to Boots (our CVS) today and got a round bristle brush. I'm not sure on whether or not the bristles are real boar, but they are marketed as "by appointment of her royal highness" which is a nice touch!

    The Middy Thread

Sounds good to me! Also, I'm in the running for a new brush at the moment as mine seems to have commited suicide. I recently used my baby sister's tangle teezer. She has almost afro like curls and it basically makes her hair straight. I'm guessing that also means it would completely brush out...

    The Middy Thread

Another lurker here finally peeping out of her shell! I'll be getting a proper middy cut (or maybe a modified one) at the end of September (just in time for my birthday). I love setting my hair in pin curls and just brushing it out until I have a lovely amount of curl at the bottom, but have...
