Totally agree with making sure it has enough room to toss on over anything you may be wearing. Rather than something with a snug fit, where you need to change what your wearing to fit the jacket.- Eagledog

Thurston Bros has a stock RAF shearling 36 on their web. Write those measurements down and go to a store or motorcycle shop with leather jackets and find something close to it. See how that fits. CPO Shirts and Shirt-Jackets
This is the weatherwool CPO midweight fabric. It is much lighter. Feels like wearing nothing. So easy to toss on in the morning whilst enjoying the first cup of coffee on the balcony. Just like the jacket, it is super soft. No itching. They also make lovely blankets.- Eagledog

From the female perspective it looks too short. If you need to change jeans and belt to not look or feel ridiculous then it's too short.
