During the latter part of the war guys like these in P-51 squadrons had little but ground targets rarely seeing a Luftwaffe plane in the air. As I emphasised, don't kid yourself, attacking ground targets was deadly business. Many of the top aces were done in straffing airfields.
While we have had relations with all sorts of tin horn countries over the years that didn't deserve it, Cuba has been jilted. It's the Cuban people that have suffered while we swagger about with pious cries of wanting to help them. What kind of humanitarians are we if we don't help the people...
Merkman- I wrote about one of the guys in his outfit in another squadron a few years ago. Here's what it was like for your uncle---
DOWN & DIRTY
The air war of WW II had two sides. One was the air-to-air facet with its “clean” kills and the then there was the aspect of fighters...
The last I heard was it probably would not be back. They were going down a list of shows and their fates. Like that new show Cane with Jimmy Smits couldn't come back cause people were doing other things already. Anyhow Sarah was logical theme for a series and I'd watch it if it returned, even...
Labs that are doing dental bridges and partials and such send their work to be done to China and other countries outside the US. The pieces coming from China have lead in them.:( If I had anything done I'd ask my dentist where it came from for obvious reasons.
That site has a fairly eccelctic selection of films.
I take it your uncle was Vern Blizzard 339th Fighter Group, 504th Fighter Squadron who scored 6 ground kills. Guess the photo from summer-fall 1944 after re-equipping with the Ds. Reason he had Punkie II was because Punkie was lost in...
New alert folks- just heard this morning that about 15% of the dental lab work is actually done offshore and unsurprisingly things from China have had lead in them.:( Ask your dentist.
You are right. And most of the old electrical things I've perused had cords/plugs I wouldn't trust. Rare that the internals actually go bad.
And never splice a new plug onto the old cord with a cord to cord splice. It is the weak point and will crap out right away= sparks+fire. Only...
We can all agree that the concessions are a profit maker. And we all realize that the costs are ridiculously high. I don't buy anything at the theater. How long will it be till that stuff raises so much that fewer and fewer will purchase it either?
I think we a moving towards a day when...
Just saw Legend is out on DVD. Is it me or are these movies hitting disc faster than ever? It really does become a question of "what's the point?" of going to the cinema if they flicks are out 3 months later. And with all the big HD screens people have there is little lost to the theater...
This all makes me think of cars. In the 60s you could still get a new car for $2000. Of course no computers and emissions crapola. Simple and effective. Where have those days gone?:(
Well it depends hpw far you're planning on being from home or a place that has 6v bulbs. Believe it or not they, or 12v, don't burn out very often. And they do have a $40 jump starter for 6v. $300 bucks doesn't sound bad but you may need some additional step up ballast resistors for other...
Clipper- she looks swell! Converting to 12v in So. Cal. will run you at least $450. My Packard is still 6v. There is nothing that fresh parts and CLEAN connections won't help with your 6v. Part of the key is getting a powerful 6v battery. I have an 865 CCA Interstate brand.
The big...
I had to wear suits for decades in work and for wrok-related functions. Now I only wear one for funerals :o I've grown to hate wearing them over 35+ years and will not attend a function that requires it except a friend's funeral, which are more often than I'd like.
I'd rather Johnny Depp it...
I assume you are not retiring in which case you want to figure a place with excellent medical facilities. It's up to the style and era I suppose. I'd agree Charleston or Savannah would be applicable if you are into the architecture and era of history.
What do ya wanna do in the place you...
Bob was arrested a couple times and just a couple years before he died they had a deal where they traced a package of pot sent to him by Dawn in the mail. I don't know who got arrested then.
Inconsequential sillyness from all ways you look at it really.[huh]
