You rock Buler! I figured you'd chime in sooner than later!
Also thanks for the advice SteveAs. That's actually kind of what I was thinking. And though I would love to collect some just to have, I feel bad not to get some wear out of them.... maybe that's one that I'll get stretched to 7 1/4...

Here's my addition to the Mile... It's a 7 1/8 has a 1 3/8" ribbon, 2.5" overwelt brim and (unless I measured wrong) a 5 1/4" open crown. Oh and the wind trolly is intact!
From what I can be seen, she's never been worn.
Any idea as to the date?
The next big question... to crease or not...
In 92 I came home from the service with about four grand saved up in cash and saving bonds. While driving around with a couple buddies my eye caught this beast being taken out of a garage. I made my buddy turn around and had to check her out. Turns out the lady who owned her had just died and it...
You folks are really looking top shelf!
Sharp in New York G.E.F! I would kill to be going to film school, let alone check out New York. These are the best of days!
Darling Rue... you are truly a heart breaker!
Oh and BTW: not a chance on the tablecloth look. It's perfectly period and I LOVE...
I guess when I was a kid I was ashamed about the clothes I got stuck with (we were poor) But then I enjoyed how I dressed because it was edgy... I remember one of my girl's girlfriends at the time said, "You know, I love that you dress so retro..." I was like,"Ahm... what the hell is retro...
OK... the way I see it is that some well named actors are making a period film to the best of their ability. I think that if nothing else this should be appreciated so that other period films may be inspired.
Will period films have everything perfect??? Are you kidding me... I mean seriously...
Thanks OG!
And though it is in excellent shape and I would normally try to keep such a lid nice... due to the colors and weight I just think it would be a perfect daily driver.
A darn good find!
OK... I don't want to hijack this post... but just a warning for those interested in Un-civil War reenacting... it CAN be just that!
With that said and like with many past times there are elitist, egotistical, anal, snobbish and down right mean people involved. Not to mention that many events...
Last night one of my boys (one of our 7 year old triplets) cut his toe and needed a few stitches.... He woke up in the middle of the night, couldn't fall asleep and wanted to watch a movie with dad.... I asked him what he wanted to watch and he answered, "The one with Polly Perkins and Joe...
WOW!
That is a VERY sharp lid! I mean, look at that pristine liner!!
Just a hair too small though.
If I had the extra $$ I'd pick her up just for the collection. Unfortunately not at this time...
Someone pick her up and treat it right!
