For me, it depends on the cartoon. Generally, Speedy Gonzales is low on the offensive scale, but I remember vividly a Universal cartoon called Lazytown that was one of the most horrible, racist thing I'd ever seen. I literally was gape-mouthed while watching it.
Then there's something like...
As a person who is regularly competing against younger women in roller derby of all things, it's less about illusion and more about pushing the boundaries.
If I went merely by my chronological age, I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing. However, I shrugged to myself and tried it, and found that...
The real truth is that youth has always been valued. The thing that's changed is the availability of plastic surgery to keep the wrinkles at bay. The results of some bad plastic surgery are at once both devastating and amusing to see in people's relentless attempts to stop time from marching...
There's one aspect where there's change and it's for the better...all the TREES!!!!
In many of the "before" photos that weren't in downtown LA, it was just suburban sprawl. One of the best things the city ever did was start planting trees in the latter half of the 20th century...and look at...
I have no idea, I'm just going to hope that it's a red that I as a redhead can wear. :D From the picture, it looks like a nice vintage red, so for me personally it could go either way looks-wise. Wish me luck!

Sleep is usually a big help.
Also, I know folks who SWEAR by the neti pot. I haven't tried it, but I guess it really helps with sinus congestion.
As a preventative, I take zinc supplements as well as an insane amount of vitamin C. Garlic also helps.

Some would call my husband and I "nutty neighbors" because we own Harley-Davidsons with modified exhaust systems. Yep, loud pipes. However, we try to not be obnoxious when we're out and about on the motorcycles, and the local kids in the neighborhood are fascinated. In the eleven years we've had...
I've been using the rose petal Thayer's for years now. I guess I like smelling like an old lady. lol
I have really oily skin, so the witch hazel is nice, but I still feel greasy sometimes. That's when I pull out the Dr. Bronner's soap for a quick scrubdown.
I also use witch hazel in a...
This thread is killing me! lol
I LOVE Casablanca. Wonderful casting, great lines, good production value, and a great director. I think the characters make that film for me.
Michael Curtiz, Casablanca's director, did Romance on the High Seas which is great, as is Mildred Pierce and Angels...
Continuing to be Off-Topic
:offtopic: Plyometrics are a HUGE help for women athletes in keeping the knees working. Plyos basically build up the muscles around the knees to help support the ligaments and such so that they'll have less of a tendency to tear.
My league calls plyos...
Whenever I had to go for jury duty in downtown LA I took advantage of it by walking down Broadway during lunch. It used to have all kinds of old buildings from the early to mid 1900's. It was a great way to kill time.
However, the last time I had to be in the area I noticed that developers...
I hate pale pink. HATE HATE HATE. But it looks good on me. GRRRRRRR!
I do like how some of the color rules for redheads have changed...now you see redheads wearing red, and it can be quite striking.

I agree. There are plenty of "females" out in the world these days...they're the type that just me was referring to with the too-tight clothes, etc. that isn't appealing to him or the general FL crowd.
Women and ladies are different from females in their behavior, their outlook on life, their...
I was wondering when the crap that pregnant women deal with from strangers was going to be brought up! :D
I get comments on my hair color from strangers. Now that I'm older it's usually in the positive, but when I was younger, I heard some harsh stuff. The worst was the college-age boys who...
I think the popularity of shows such as Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives shows where a lot of people are at. My husband and I love watching this show...we call it "food porn". :)
And whenever possible, we eat at local joints, not chains. It's oh-SO-much better!

Easy Answer
My husband and I decided from the get-go that we have a joint household bank account, and we have separate individual accounts. We then put half of whatever we make into the house account to pay bills, etc. and the other half we spend any which way we want. It makes us both happy...
