Thanks for those images - it helps understanding what it is!
Now, I'm just wondering what the heck started the trend of cutting up a fedora, and why it was something mechanics would do.
I'm sure that a stylist is who put this ensemble together and perhaps suggested/convinced her to go with her hair down rather than up. For something as big as the Sex/City opening, she would have to use a stylist.
To get back on topic...I found a large image of the hat's base so the detail could be seen.
(See it larger here)
The base is really nice on it's own without that tree growing from it. I think it would be neat to do a revamped version of this feather acorn/beret. It would be easy to do by...
It depends what look you are going for - I tend to wear mine depending on the material and what mood I'm in. Typically I have it tilted to one side with it covering part of my forehead. I don't have any pictures of me wearing a beret b/c I tend to be the one behind the camera, but here are some...
I agree. I'm more of a beret girl so I like the little feathered acorn top, but would never be able to wear such a tree like that on my head. Hmmm, I think replicated the acorn bit would be quite easy.
Just an FYI - this Sinatra stamp gets released this Tuesday (5/13). Get it online or at your local post office.
Also - the postage rate goes up 1¢ tomorrow the 12th to make it 42¢ to send a 1 oz first class letter.
HA! Well, I let stuff like that slide because as one who sews as well, I know it is a pain int he booty. Plus, that may have been all the fabric she had to work with and lining it up may have not been an option, it was the 30s. Do with what you have!
This thread has me all hopped-up for...
Which ones from Stop Staring did you get? The ones from Daddy O's show side pockets on them...I'm wondering if it would be a better/different fit, if they are not the ones you are talking about.

I can't seem to pull them off either. I just look like I came over to scrub your bath tub or something. Scarves on the head I can do, but only when I'm feeling confident enough.
Found this image on Shorpy, check out the large view to see the wonderful wide-legged pants these ladies are wearing.
I found trousers quite similar on Victoria's Secret.
Thanks - yeah, I've never been too fond of their product photos. They really don't take good ones. I wonder if they just don't get enough web purchases to care.
I use gloves for cleaning and will never go back. The one thing I found though is that you need to get the right ones. I have thin hands and if I get the generic rubber gloves I feel like a lumber jack and water always gets in through the top. Playtex has some rubber gloves that are more fitted...
I was listening to Dragnet last night and heard the Wild Root "Charlie" jingle. Made me think of this thread and whether anyone still used it. Good to know BegintheBeguine - how well does it work on hair?
Hmmm...I haven't had Jell-o in years. Now I'm craving the pudding.
Laura Chase: Those are the Blvds - my friend took those pics and manipulated the color in those. The actual color of the suede is something like this - a middle tone to light green. The heel and leather parts of the kilt are an olive green, close to color in this pic.
The shoes are not narrow...
I finally got the knack of rolls! I have been able to do the high victory rolls, but because of my long face, I just look awful with them. So, I've been working on making ones closer to the head, which are looking much nice with my face shape. Here's what I came up with in a pinch when I was...
I would do it if I was a 9.5, but I'm not. I can tell you though that I'm normally ALWAYS a 8.5 and I am an 8 in Remix. Also, I'm a proud owner of the Blvd. in green and love them. I'm the type not to be too matchy matchy though, and find that the greens can go with everything - black, brown...
I just bought a pair of wide-legged tweed trousers from Forever 21. It was a low price too, like $18 or something insane like that. Check their website, they probably still have it online.
