    Show us your hair do's....

Don't get too discouraged BB - it takes time and practise. It may also be that it just needed more brushing out - it can take up to 15 minutes of brushing a pincurl set to get it looking right. Don't give up!

    Footwear for Winter

I do have quite small feet, which is a massive bonus when buying vintage shoes. The perfect size feet for vintage shoes would be a size UK3 - you would be able to buy so many amazing shoes with size three feet!

    Footwear for Winter

I just won these for £2.40 plus £6 postage: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290460324008&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT They are a size too big for me, which is probably fine for winter, but if not I will give you ladies first dibs.

    Whats in YOUR winter wardrobe??

I wear wool skirt suits with polo-neck jumpers and vintage or modern cardis. I found 60 denier flesh coloured tights last winter which were a godsend for warm legs with skirts. I have some lovely brown plaid lined wool capris which keep me toasty and jeans with tights underneath are great for...

Had my hair chopped short a few weeks ago and I've been having some trouble getting it to look the way I want as most of it is too short to set. But I got it looking ok yesterday:

Where do you think vintage is more popular?

Vintage dressing has been a part of various subcultures and a subculture in its own right as far back as I can remember in Britain. I grew up in Devon in a city of 100,000 people and there was even a vintage clothes shop there and now there are 3! London obviously is great for vintage but...

Cosmopolitan UK September Issue, Featuring Lounge members

The writing is tosh - it says we are all trying to look like 40s pin-up girls, which is actually only the case for one of us! AND they didn't plug my magazine or Naomi's shop or Fleur's blog like they said they would. AND they used a picture of Lisa with her eyes closed. That's mainstream media...

Cosmopolitan UK September Issue, Featuring Lounge members

For those who are interested the issue of Cosmopolitan magazine featuring some of the UK ladies of the lounge is available today. I haven't actually seen it yet but am bracing myself for the sight of myself as a middle aged woman pretending to be at a pyjama party in national print!

Finances in the Golden Era and today

In the UK they have stopped lending more than about 5 times annual salary (they were lending up to 7) and you now have to have a 20% deposit. This means that nobody can buy anything of course but it will hopefully bring down the house prices. I went to a mortgage adviser recently. With the...
