Don't get too discouraged BB - it takes time and practise. It may also be that it just needed more brushing out - it can take up to 15 minutes of brushing a pincurl set to get it looking right. Don't give up!
I do have quite small feet, which is a massive bonus when buying vintage shoes. The perfect size feet for vintage shoes would be a size UK3 - you would be able to buy so many amazing shoes with size three feet!
