I like Hermes "Jardin sur le nil." I do not own a bottle, but when I visit Sephora I always stop for a sniff.
Here are the notes:
Top Notes
Green Mango, Grapefruit
Middle Notes
Calamus, Lotus
Base Notes
Sycamore, Frankincense
Sigh. It just smells so good.
Haha! Yes, notice I said "kind of dress up." I guess that means that mostly only the gals dress up. The boys get "cleaned up," i.e., use a bar of soap and drag a comb through their hair. :D
Happy birthday, if it is a party for your birthday imoldfashioned!
What are all of you other gals out there doing for your holiday look?
Every year we have Christmas dinner with the whole family and everyone gets kind of dressed up for the event. I have done a deep red pedicure and plan to do the nails as well, will have Rimmel "Scream" red lips, curled...
Second the Revlon Volcanic Red- it is a "softer" red and it is definitely one of my favorites as well. The new "nighttime" red that I found and love is Rimmel's Scream.
Jenny and Fleur, fantastic 'dos! I am almost on holiday, and I can't wait to have the extra time on my hands to try out a few new hairstyles. If I come up with anything worthy, I will try and post it!
And about Nina, boy oh boy do I ever wish that I could have a hair appointment with her...
I have always loved Keds, since I was a little girl! When I was in elementary school I would ONLY wear the black or navy and white bottom rimmed canvas ones.
PolkaDotMeggie, if you search for "lotion applicators" you should be able to find a tool specifically for the purpose of applying lotion to one's own back. I only know this because a Great Aunt of mine happened to always have one of these thingamajigs hanging in her (very retro) pink bathroom...
This thread has been so inspirational! I wish I had my own pictures to show, but unfortunately I haven't really got a collection of vanity items going yet. I am afraid that the best I could do is a vintage container of Coty face powder. :( I am on the hunt now though!
I use the Nivea Creme in the little blue tins-- I try to keep one in my purse for use after handwashing in public places. The handwashing is what seems to exacerbate my dryness, but I am not going to stop germ-busting!
Does anyone have any suggestions for "minty" men's scents? My own man pretty much only likes scents like spearmint, Noxzema, etc. Does anything like this exist?
PS- I do love the scent of Drakkar myself, but his sensitive sniffer vetoed that right away! :eusa_doh:
I always pop in a David Suchet Poirot, or check and see if there are any good classic movies on TV, or go out and get a new conditioner or lippie, or call a friend.
I went to see it in 3D, and I must say that I really liked the 3D part. However, I didn't think that the actual movie was that good... especially because I thought it was so violent. I kept grabbing at my boyfriend's arm and telling him that there was no way this could be PG-13! I do wish...
I took piano lessons from an older woman at her home for many years. She had learned to play long ago and so almost all of the music that she had me play was her old music! She had travelled a lot when she was younger and her house was all decorated with her vintage mementos and lovely...
I have used it on my face in the wintertime, when I have windburn. It does not break me out, but then again my skin has always like oily stuff. I have found that I prefer putting Nivea cream on my face for windburn rather than Vaseline though, as it seems to soak in better and not be as shiny...
I like to wear a bandana tied around my head (in a cute way, I always thought) on very windy days or otherwise bad hair days. I was in bandana wearing oblivion, until one day last week a got pretty much made fun of by my teacher for wearing it. So, I ask you all here... does it look bad to...
