All kidding aside,seriously I do think it looks better opened than closed. It seems to be a pretty short jacket. Are there any 618 owners around 5'11" with a fit pic of the jacket zipped up? I'd love to see where the jacket sits.
Hello again gentlemen,
This came to me while I was looking through 618 pics on the internet. I came to the conclusion that this jacket looks best worn open. What are your thoughts? I have a pic of it opened and a pic of it closed for comparison.
Thanks bunyip, I find that naked brown leather schott uses to be quite dark and rich looking. I likely very much
@peacoat
Wow 2.5 years and still not broken in yet. Interesting point about how the stiffness of the jacket bothers you for casual use. I never took that into consideration...
Thx for the info. Hopefully I find one. This is probably a silly question but how often do these types of collaborations happen? I'm guessing not often, I'm fairly new to the jacket game and the only ones I know of is this schott/context cxl 113 and the filson/Levis trucker jacket.
Yeah thats exactly what it was. Originally I was thinking of getting the 641 in horse or steer but I wasn't able to try it on and the 141 was $300 less expensive so I jumped on it. I don't have much experience with leather, i've handled a vanson chopper, roland sand clash and ronin and a few...
How was the break in for the heavy motorcycle jacket? Do you ever wear it casually or do you find it too heavy? I'm interested because I'm in the final details stage with Alan on a jacket using the overdye in 4.25 ounce.
@pawineeguy
Sounds like you really have to try several jackets to find which ones are meant for you. Must be a fun journey
@proteinnerd
You're right, I overlooked that option of having the waist taken in. Thanks! I also agree to break it in first and go from there
@msrtex
Chuck Norris...
With all that hard luck it sounds like at some point in time your going to own a brown j106. I've heard nothing but good things about brown cxl fqhh. Have you ever seen it in person? I haven't and I'm guessing that's why I've been able to hold off for now. I figure with...
@ pawineeguy, good to hear that the noise lessens as it breaks in. Yes from having the jacket for a couple of days I thought it would be fun to break in. Dude how many jackets do you have in your collection? I feel like your burning through your collection with all these sales.
@ mendelboaz...
Thanks for kind words and suggestions.
I dont think i will be putting it in the dryer for now. I want to see how it looks when broken in before and if I try to make it anymore fitted.
I do recall Peacoat saying that water has shruken his naked leather jackets. so maybe once its broken...
Hello again,
I managed to find this new size 40 schott 141 for a pretty good deal so I jumped on it. I was contemplating between this or a 641 HH but the price difference was a few hundred dollars and I wasn't able to try on the 641.
As many of you know the naked leather is soft and...
Tommer, when I was going to buy my first leather jacket I was speaking with langlitz and your straight zip jacket was the one I wanted to replicate. Langlitz told me that colour wasn't their's, it was a customer who dyed the jacket and also they received many many emails from people regarding...
Very interesting concept. I wonder if anybody has attempted similar methods of payment and shipping in the past.
I do like the shipping policy, I've never liked if the jacket doesn't fit properly or even some companies having to send a fit jacket to get the process of having a custom jacket...
