What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

I'm still looking for a nice vintage one - this is a modern Christy's wool one I picked up just after they stopped making them, as I realised finding a vintage one in a 60/61 was going to take a long time! Latoso & Dale - stying warm & stylish :) Jeff - hope the cardiologists report was...

Thanks for the comments on the Vanzina ---- Che - lovely featherweight and you seem to have made quite a bond with that feathered friend. Hatguy - with that weather I'd be going for whatever is warmest. Stay safe in the cold folks. Mickey - the outback looks good. Jeff - looks great - nice...

I've never got as far north as Skye, but yes it's difficult to find a better Whisky, although the difficult to find Brora holds an equally high spot in my affection :)

    Post New Hats Here!

Thanks folks - it's a tad snug, and the size on the label missing so I'm not sure whether it's a small 60 or not, but a hat stretcher makes it wearable. I don't have any Maysers to compare it with, but it's a nicely made hat with very decent felt.

At the Dog Track... The Whippets

Thanks Steve & David. I'd have preferred a different colour, but it's a lovely hat, and I'll happily wear black hats.

Ask a question, get an answer

Welcome Milamber. The GADunn is probably 50s - Ive got a very similar one. The Gieves & Hawkes looks newer - maybe 70s and probably made for them by Christys The Trilby is probably of European manufacture - late 50s through to late 60s. The Bowler is difficult to date but probably post 1953...

    movie hats that inspired you...

My love of bowlers comes from these two gentlemen: (Choosing a shot that includes Diana Rigg as Mrs Peel is in no way accidental ;) )

At the Dog Track... The Whippets

A cross post from the German/Austrian thread, for easier searching - German Stetson Whippet. I'm guessing late 50's early 60's but could be wrong:

My first Whippet. A German Stetson (I now have an English Stetson and a German Stetson, but still don't have an American one... yet :) ). I'm sure it's been discussed before, but to save me searching any ideas who made them in Germany? I'm guessing late 50's early 60's but could be wrong:

    The perfect hat

I only buy hats that are likely to fit and like a variety, but there's definitely a bit of a collector streak in me.

    Akubra Campdraft

I've had great service from both Hatsdirect and EverythingAustralian - I couldn't recommend one over the other. As Duper says EA has better prices (including shipping to the UK at least) but you'll generally have a significant wait for your order. Hatsdirect has more specials and tends to have...
