    Formal Wear Primer

I'd say most collars look fine, but only a few really look great. It's a bit hard to explain, and I'm not sure I entirely understand it myself, but it's most clear when you see someone wearing a really well made suit. Whereas on a lot of RTW and ill-fitting suits the collar (viewed from the...

And, to be fair, the tailor who made it might not have factored for HRH plopping his hand in the pocket like that.

    Crockett & Jones Spectators

Yikes...Ben Silver must be feeling the effects of the dollar's going in the tank against the pound. Last I checked they were $595. They are lovely shoes, though. Perhaps my favorite spectators of all times, though Edward Green makes some that give them a run for their money.

Scott, how do the Rolls and Stahly razors work? (I'm assuming there must be something special about the Stahly because of the fat handle and the name.)

Vintage clothing might lose you that job interview!!

Some, at least here in DC, would. To a lot of folks, anything out of the ordinary is not conservative. DBs and 3-piece suits are out of the ordinary. Put the two together and it's virtually unheard of. It's a shame, but those are the times we live in.

    Silk Knots VS Cufflinks

I think the answer, honestly, is to wear them whenever you like. I wear both kinds. I'd say don't wear the silk knots with a dinner jacket, but other than that, it doesn't really matter. I suppose the level of formality of the rest of what I'm wearing might help determine which I put on--e.g...

My first: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showpost.php?p=176857&postcount=1 A question about vintage-style sweater vests with deep v-necks. I still haven't found any, but, for what it's worth, the London Lounge is working on recreating them. I think I lurked here for about a month or so...

Exactly the same. And the same sort of post content, as well. It was Marc Chevalier who set him onto the LL, I believe.
