Just bought a 50s era Stetson Twenty Five Open Road. Need to soften the felt. Any idea SS to the best way to take some of the stiffness out of the felt?
I just purchased a very old Stetson 25 open road. The hat is in excellent condition except for the fact that the thin ribbon/hatband is damaged and I don't think can be repaired. I've searched the internet and cannot find anything regarding replacement ribbons, does anyone know where I can find one?
Sorry... unfortunately life happened and I was quite busy. Additionally, I was not getting any notifications through the page to let me know that anyone had responded. Thank you for responding but I have found a pin for the strat.
I have several vintage fedoras that have small holes, single hole, punched in the Sweat Band near the rear seam slash size sticker. I've recently noticed the same type of hole punched in hats that are being sold as new/ notags/ display models. Does anyone know what these holes mean? Fyi, I'm not...
I was just luck enough to purchase a 50's era Strat. It was pretty beat up but I was able to re-shape it into a decent looking lid. What is missing is the Stratoliner hat pin. If anyone has one or knows where one may be found, please let me know. TIA
There used to be a link on this forum to date vintage Stetsons. Is there something similar to date a Borsalino? I own several but do not know how to tell their vintage.
I just found a 70s era Borsalino at a flea market. The felt is in great condition but the sweat band has light mold. Whats the best way to clean this hat?
The hat looks practically unused. The price seems reasonable for a 40+ year old hat in this condition. I'm looking for an every day hat as I have too many "Keepers" that sit on a shelf for display and I don't wear often... Thanks for your assistance..
