My dear People,
Talk about a ridiculous topic for a thread. Is this supposed to draw out the folks who are allegedly 'snobby'? Or is it a guilt trip so that the rest of us humble (yet well dressed) Lounge members may rub our hands together in glee at the thought of them crying in their Corn...
Don't have a link, but if any of ya'll ever find yourselves in the Black Hills, check out the Firehouse Brewing Company in Rapid City. Smoke-Jumper Stout, Chukkar Ale, Brown-Eyed Girl, Wilderness Wheat, Firehouse Red, to name a few of their varieties. Great beer, and amazing tavern food, too...
Thought this might be a fun one to resurrect. I could really use a nice, cold, tap-drawn Sam Adams right about now!!! Or a Guinness, or a Murphy's, or even a Killian's! But a Sam sounds particularly good right now...

Nope, I'm afraid this one came "as is". And, yes, it does leak... a lot! I hear this model has a tendency to do that pretty much anywhere you go!

Actually (if I recall correctly), I'm pretty sure he was saying "I have a surprise for you, Dad! It's in my pants, and you'll have to get it!" lol He's quite a people person, though, especially a year after that picture was taken!
This is after about 3 hours at my wedding reception. No idea WHAT I'm doing!
This is from Honduras last summer. Lots of Corona!
Another from Honduras, learning how to scuba dive on Roatan.

I realize this is the Ladies of the Lounge, but I simply must post a couple of my lovely wife, Bonnie. She's not much for vintage, but...

Check out the Open Road threads (O.R. Guild, etc), and Conversion Corral (westerns converted to fedora style). The Open Road started out as a western style, and the vast majority of its wearers around here have turned them into some darn nice wide-brimmed fedoras. See specifically Jimmy The...
Thanks, Fletch. I've already taken the liberty of removing the sweat, liner, and ribbon. All that remains is the brim binding. By the time I'm done with it, that'll probably be gone, too, following a brim trim from 3 1/2 down to about 2 1/2-2 5/8. Gotta see where a resize and reblock takes...
I picked up 7 1/4 Resistol, in good but well-used shape, for a song at the local antiques bizarre. I plan on giving it a naphtha/white gas bath at some point, and turning it into a close approximation of a OR or Strat. Has anybody had experience stretching a hat by a full 1/4? I'm a big 7...
Is there any brushing/rubbing necessary in this process? Other than the standard preliminary brushing to remove surface dust and suchlike... I picked up an old Resistol the other day that's got a decent bit of grime on the bottom/front of the crown, extending down onto the brim about 1/4"...
Word of advice: Steve is very particular about who gets that discount. If he sees you join up to COW and then ask him the next day for a new AB with the fat discount, he'll probably say a flat "no". He doesn't like freeloaders, or people who take advantage of his generosity. I ordered my...
