Lizzie,
You pretty well described Double T. Though much larger then a traditional Diner that place has been unchanged for the 12 or 15 years I've been going there. The menu is extensive too, much more then any other restaurant in town. But nothing trendy. Just a substantial list of Greek...
I don't see a public restroom in those drawings, Only one behind the counter for the staff. Therefore nobody could eat in that diner. In my area is a small chain of Diners called the "Double T Diner". Has that whole retro look but is substantially larger then the originals it's designed after...
Hmmm. The way I read that there are a 10 "new" cars and a handful more that were very low milage/very good condition trade ins that went into dry storage. The rest were parked in a field so you can buy a car that has sat in grass for 60 years. I'm not in any way diminishing the actual new cars...
Some of those. Also I found a wire photo on eBay where the shoulder insignia could be seen but not to clearly. And thanks a bunch for the unit answer AND the story to go with it. Excellent stuff.

While reading a history of the 746th ROB I came across a single paragraph referencing the dispatching of men to Philadelphia early August 1944 to operate the buses, trolleys etc of the Philadelphia Transportation Company during the "Philadelphia Transit Strike" of 1944. Image searches revealed...
Hey my kind of business! I've been in heating and air conditioning for the last 14 years. A couple of points to add to the conversation.
"Air Conditioning" can also mean heat when looking at old advertisements. I discovered this reading 1940's Architectural Journal magazines. There were...
There are a great many steam locomotives in the US operating on tourist lines. Strasburg RR in Pennsylvania even pulls freight with their's between passenger runs. But I don't know of any of the streamlined ones remaining in operation. Stuff like Henry Dreyfus designed.

Thanks. For my next project I'm going to take some hairpin legs and screw them to a piece of plywood to conceal under the china hutch. That will elevate it somewhat, along with some replacement glass doors will turn what is essentially a hall table now into a display case. I'm also getting some...
Pardon the tool talk at the bottom, I originally posted this on a web forum for "Old Woodworking Machinery" hence OWWM.
So here is the situation. Our living room has been progressively becoming more Mid-Century with Heywood-Wakefield pieces. Currently a couch, two arm chairs and a surfboard...

I remember about 10 years ago, just before the change there were flight suit patches (real big almost Blood Chit size) that had a big Confederate flag and words something to the effect of "This pilot is a member of the Confederate Air Force if found in Yankee territory please send him back".

WOW!!!! WOW!!!!! WOW!!!!! That is incredible. When I was a kid I thought it would be neat to do that. But man so incredibly fragile. I'll be sure to watch the videos later, after work hours so I don't incur the wrath of the bandwidth monitors in the IT department.

This thread reminds me of this article:

If you haven't heard of The Duffel Blog before. take some time to read some of their other articles. Great site. Or at least it is to people like myself who are over here.

The ones at Cabelas were probably Italian. From what I've heard perfectly fine guns but not "Colt". That one on Gunbroker sounds more like the prices I see for Colt's. But admittedly I'm not into black powder yet so I haven't looked into it nearly as much.

Check out Langley Models out of the UK. Nice white metal kits of horses and horse drawn equipment. Albeit it's OO scale so slightly larger then HO. Might find something to suit your needs...
Another here who doesn't own a dishwasher. We just wash the dishes by hand. It's helpful to wash dishes as you cook too, like the bowl the chicken was marinating in, while the chicken is on the grill wash that bowl...
