Feet Up! The Work Boot Thread

My dad bought me a pair of these 45 years ago when I was 13 years old and I still remember how soft and comfortable they were. Would love to find another pair.

Any idea when this Aero Highwayman was made?

Hats at Work - A Photo Thread

[/IMG] An inexpensive newish 8 panel wool worn at a new club in town. Although not a full-time endeavor, I'm fortunate to earn a good percentage of my income from music. Sure beats working.

    Local Estate Sale...

Never seen that many nice hats at a sale, much less in my size. Good luck with it. Remember the large melons here needing to be well hatted.

I get hassled buying "used" clothing.

At least 90% of my wardrobe is from Thrift stores. This year alone I've purchased three pair of new dress shoes that way, each retail around $300. The local Brooks Brothers donates to one store I frequent.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Thanks. Although Walter Brennan took it to the extreme, I like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYrr1oD8w-wNowhere near as beautiful as the one Cooper is wearing but is kind of works. I've creased this hat a million ways and like this one best. Alan, that's a shame. I agree you look...

You making fun of my dumbo ears??? I no longer like brims that don't keep them well shaded. This one is 3" and anything less than 2 1/2" looks really stingy.

    Panama Hat Thread

Some beautiful lids here! Maybe I'll have one in the future but I've been enjoying my $2 thrift store cuenca. A local dry cleaner/hatter blocked it for my melon head and gave it a leather sweat and dark navy ribbon. It's helped me get through the hot summer. [/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

It warmed up a bit and I spent time cutting up a limb that fell during a short storm Wednesday. My $2 thrift store cuenca which thanks to a local dry cleaner/hatter received a nice blocking, leather sweat and dark navy ribbon. It's been my daily hat for the last several weeks in the hottest...

    Show Your Patina

Thanks for the kind words. I purchased it from fellow lounger JakeHolman recently. I'm blessed that he had Aero reline it appropriately and even more blessed that it didn't fit him. There are benefits to being a bit shorter. :) There is some beautiful patina on display here which I've...
