Maybe, as in Godfrey, he'll come back big.

    The Real Superman - 1942

I love these too. I have them on dvd, but when my son and I are watching Maxwell DeMille's Movies in Your Home on the computer in the evening we'll watch one of the Superman cartoons between Flip the Frog and Betty Boop - just coz we both love them. They are total eye candy. They were a big...

    Hollywoodland

September is not usually my favourite month - I'm a college prof. - but this one might be bearable. I saw this one being shot in Toronto. Was your friend in Tdot or was it also filmed in NY?

    Mad Dogs, Englishmen, and Texans

That is the most perfect ensemble for going to the corner store for a popsicle I have ever seen. Jolly good!

    Missing Members

I was really only curious about the Fedora Discrimination outcome - and I still don't have any answers - which led me to the conclusion that Mr. M. had scarpered, which he had not, and then led me to muse about that nutsy "Fabulous" guy. Something someone posted in one of the threads he...

    Dillinger (1973)

This is one of my guilty pleasures. Aw, who am I kidding, there's nothing guilty about it, it's just a pleasure. A fast paced film based on the exploits of John Dillinger. It is wildly inaccurate (Ben Johnson portrays Melvin Purvis as older, experienced, stone-cold and in complete control -...

    New William Powell Biography

Something to put on my Christmas list. I've always thought that William Powell deserved to be better remembered, and I hope that the release of the Thin Man Collection on DVD started something. There does seem to be some renewed interest in him.

A teeny thing 'counter-vintage' about you?

Clearly Kraftwerk still know how to rock. They should calm down, at their age. There is much that is "coutner-vintage" in my fonds.

    Made me laugh - Kitlers

Why, Senator Jack, is this evidence of a hitherto unrevealed soft'n fuzzy side? Heil Kitty

Call of Cthulhu, low budget version

The Thing improves with age. They do great audio commentaries for the dvds of their films as well. Big Trouble in Little China is (even) more entertaining with the commentary on. They Live was a better, smarter, funnier Mars Attacks - so why'd Burton bother?
