Yeah, I'd suggest making the time to go. A huge selection and sales people who know hats will go a long way toward finding a hat (or several) you'll love. The word "Fedora" covers so many diverse styles of hat that you can get overwhelmed at first.

I'd think that tweet jacket and waistcoat would go with several different pairs of trousers. Solid colors, methinks, in blue, brown or grey. I have a herringbone tweed sportcoat that's very versatile.
My Borsalino from French Indochina has a rolled edge like that. It doesn't seem to want to be flipped down and I don't want to force it. Here it is.
