    Something I'm missing?

Allow me to join in with the rest...who even knew there were stars? Why would anyone bother to rate a thread? Don't like the thread? So don't open it. Take your angst elsewhere. I accidently got into the lightweight view once and decided I liked the colours and the avatars...so it's the...

    Japanese Type 89 Medium Tank

Great video...thanks for posting. I notice there's a lot of track and suspension noise but not a lot of engine noise.

    What was your first car?

1963 Chevy II...a wreck of a car but an awful lot of fun when you're at university. Police really seemed to relish pulling it over for safety checks! It was followed by a 1966 Oldsmobile F-85...a sounder vehicle but a bit like driving a bus after the Chevy II. And then I went a bit backward...

    The Cap Faction

One snap on the brim. Wore it tonight on my evening walk. It was certainly comfortable enough.

Thanks Adnamira. I like the colour as well but I think I still prefer a nice newsboy.

    What's for Dinner?

Steak with caramelized onions and provolone cheese; skin-on roasted potatoes and zucchini something (haven't quite figured out how I'm going to do the zucchini yet!)

    The Cap Faction

More luck at the thrift stores today. My third cap...made by Crown Caps of Winnipeg. The company was founded in 1934 basically to produce caps for the Western Canadian market. This cap wouldn't date back that far...'80's or '90's I expect.

Interesting. The 1904 fire was quite the fire. Thanks for the research. And regarding the Scardigan...guess I should have been paying attention! Saw one at a thrift store today...needed a good cleaning but it was sound. Didn't pick it up...I'm looking for silks right now. Unfortunately it...

It's interesting to see a scarf by Currie, HodgePodge. I run into that maker often, usually (but not always) in the form of short white silk scarves. Given the frequency that I encounter Currie scarves, I'm assuming that its a Canadian maker.

That red wool number by Forsyth is a nice looking scarf HodgePodge! I spot those 'Scardigans' once in a while but I've never picked one up. I tend to like playing with the 'knot' of the scarf. Buttons just wouldn't work with me! Given this particular winter, I think I've worn a wool scarf...

And a silk/wool maroon paisley by Christian Dior. Rather dislike wearing advertising, so I wear this one with the Dior thing facing my chest! I have a couple more Diors...nice quality but I wish he'd be more discreet with the labelling.

Nice finds esteban68...wish I could find a green one! A quick shot of my latest thrift store find...silk/wool and West German made. Quite a nice scarf and it has a very rich shade of brown.

    Your Favorite Paintings

I have a lot of art and love every piece but I don't have this one... A Portrait of the Marchesa Casati by Augustus John. Just visited her yesterday at the Art Gallery of Ontario and like any other painting it's far more magnificent in reality than in any photo.

    Post New Hats Here!

Thanks Manfred...wore it when I visited the Art Gallery of Ontario today. It had a real purple look under their lights! Really nice finds, fedoralover! Love the Milans. Job...wish I could find such a sweet straw. Looks good.

    Post New Hats Here!

Found this weary looking Knox custom at a thrift shop yesterday. Early '60's I suspect. Wore it today after a bit of brushing, cleaning and steaming. Really interesting colour. In some light it looks brownish, in others it looks grey with a bit of a purple/pink tint. This could...

    What Are You Reading

Geez...maybe I like King more than I thought. Forgot about Cell. Liked it as well. Mmmm. You're spot on regarding the ending of Under the Dome...it was a bit weak but it was a good story.

    Hat size questions

A silly question, I know, but are you using steam? I've always found that the steam will make the felt very co-operative. It's really essential when you're trying to reshape the hat. You could try some leather conditioner on the sweatband as well. A bit of work with a stretcher and some...
