My grandfather was the unofficial ship's photographer on his destroyer, and took part in many of the major battles. His ship was also one of the two which captured the 'hospital ship' Tachibana Maru. Needless to say, the photo album is pretty amazing.
Here's another EvaDress pattern I finished a little while ago. It's the 1940s men's robe, in the shorter length. I did the robe in green wool flannel, the facings in satin, and added an internal button to keep the right lapel in place.
Any resemblence to the pattern artwork is purely...
What a coincidence ;)
I believe the rise on the '40s trousers is a bit higher, but I haven't measured them, that's just how they sit on me. And yes, the service from EvaDress is second to none!
JohnnyJ, they're with a sewn-on band. I want to give the Hollywood waist a go, but I wanted to...
Are you sure that's the Graves Watch? It looks identical to the Calibre 89 Charles posted, even the hands are in the same positions. I think the Graves Watch has Roman numerals on the face.
Here's a few more items which I've put up on eBay:

Black 5-button waistcoat...
It doesn't compare with the fine lids in this thread, but it's my first panama. It's a Christys from the Hat Shop in York. I've finally been able to wear it after a week of rain and cold.
I have a few items up on eBay that may be of interest to Loungers.

You could always show her a picture of my 'tache
But yes, a longer 'tache is usually softer. Even better, use conditioner on it. Keeps it healthy and softer. Having a large moustache like I do has made me aware of the need to keep it healthy, hair loss is a terrible thing and is...
I like the coral and the rust. I might lean more towards the coral.
That parttern is fantastic, I've never found a good 1930s shirt pattern for a dress shirt.
Yesterday morning:
The rest of the day was my '50s db suit (those are the trousers) and a '30s tie, and inspired by the warm, sunny weather I brought out the boater for the first time this year. The collar is a tall double round, and inspired by a character from 42nd Street I wore it...
This is my latest suit, I held off putting photos up until I had let the legs back out. Here's a view of before with 8" cuffs and after with 10" cuffs. They hang perfectly straight, the creasing is from my hand in my pocket.
The original cuff width was perhaps 1/2" wider, but an...
Exactly.
High waists flatter the slim and the heavy. I've lost a lot of weight, but even when I was heavier I always looked slimmer in high trousers. Besides which, they do not squeeze uncomfortably and allow better movement.
