    Show us what you've made!

I finally have finished the two weeks worth of lunch break sewing that I have been doing! This is a blouse from a mid-1930s pattern from a sports blouse. Both the fabric and buttons are vintage and were purchased on Etsy. I love the novelty South American print and sombrero buttons! It's like...

Well, there are normal fabric stores where the prices of fabric can be quite expensive- near to the prices you say but per yard. The garment district in Los Angeles is all bolt ends and wholesale, though for shopping on the street and not in showrooms you most often do not need a wholesale...

Thanks, gals! Yay! :) When I eventually make the bolero and belt I'll post it on here, too. I got the fabric in the garment district in LA. I wish there had been more, but I got the rest of the bolt for a dress for me and a shirt for my husband. I think it was only $4 a yard and is a rayon.

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

HA! That's very true. I've had that response as well. We don't actually have very many vintage shops and they're quite small but are good.

I finally finished a sewing project! This is from a Butterick pattern from 1938. I still want to make the jacket and sash- the sash from red silk crepe and the jacket probably an off white linen. :D The fabric I found new, and it's surfing cowboys. I love it! My lights were casting a funny...

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

I don't do head to toe vintage every day, but more "inspired". I do wear wide leg pants and button up shirts and sweaters with keds a lot and tend to get comments on those. Co-workers have given me great vintage trinkets and supplies! It's really nice when they recognize your passion and...

I also use Firefox and have had significantly less problems than with Internet Explorer. I also really like how they have a spell checker for entries!

    Vintage Streetstyle Thread

I see so many gals walking around downtown like that... it makes me wonder if they've forgotten clothes under their jackets? lol I must be quite old fashioned... it's rather shocking.

    Show us your vintage patterns!

I forgot to share my patterns for a while! I'm making the last one right now and it's coming out lovely! I don't think I've really sewn much with Butterick and I'm very impressed. I especially like how they and Simplicity add extra seam allowances at the sides for taking them out...
