Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but "A Day in the Life" by The Beatles, the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club album:

For some reason, this is my favorite Beatles song. It's got catchy lyrics, a good melody, and a hauntingly suspenseful orchestra...
Oh, I agree... I actually think The Mummy is a much better film than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Maybe even Mummy Returns too. I'm not sure how the third would compare to it though, and I've seen that discussed elsewhere, debating whether the third Mummy was better than the fourth Indy...
R.I.P. I have not watched too much Gunsmoke, but in recent years I have managed to see a few episodes of this classic TV western. I vaguely remember watching it on Nick at Night years ago in the late '90s, I watched just about anything on that network, from I Love Lucy, to Andy Griffith, to The...
Whether for better or worse, I generally don't even remember my dreams/nightmares. I just forget them within five to ten seconds of waking up, most of the time. Whenever I do remember my dreams though, they're always strange and make little sense.
Last night, I watched The Mummy (1999) for what may be the third time ever. I enjoyed it; it's not quite like an Indiana Jones film, but it doesn't really try to be either. It's got it's own style, and is based off of an older film I think. I guess it helps that the study of mummies is an actual...
I think western hat conventions generally favoring a slightly higher crown, from what I've seen and read here. That also happens to be the way that they're generally made. I personally go by the rule of wearing a fedora that is not quite half as high as my face, but almost there. If a fedora is...
That's incredible to think of. As a matter in fact, I was thinking just yesterday of adding Titanic (Leonardo Di Caprio version) to my Netflix que to see it a second time. I have also seen the Nazi film about the Titanic as well. One thing that is saddening, is the fact that there are supposedly...
Off topic, but I just had to share this with you all. Even the popular online video game network Xbox Live has an Akubra hat now!

Hmm, I wonder which model it'd be?
Le Samourai (Jean-Pierre Melville, 1967). Possibly one of my top five favorite films of all time, and maybe even features my favorite movie hat as well.
Right, it's likely just a coat from the 1980s, not vintage, but couldn't such exceptions to the rule have existed even then? Nowadays, you see both narrow, moderate, and wide lapel jackets being manufactured. Now it seems, sartorially we live in a more "tolerant" society. Would this have been...
I think that's cool. Apparently, you've made it a part of your style. Not all of us have the nerve to do that on most days though. I know I still haven't become accustomed to wearing one every day, even though there isn't anything really wrong with it, outside of maybe embarrassing two or three...
I'll still wear my felt hats this summer, but I've got to get myself a new straw hat to replace my first one from two years ago, which is pretty much ruined after getting wet and misshapen. Now it's only a really casual yard work hat.
Hitting the Open Road today.
I went for a hike, just a walk's distance from the house. I still do keep it in the original hat box, too. I don't tend to do the same with my vintage Stetson or Akubra though, they just sit on top of a shelf until I grab one.
I don't go on Facebook too much these days anymore. Even then, it's usually to check updates from close friends and family. It was fun creating my leather jacket user group though. I think I have 30 or so people in that one.
Just for your information, the leather on my jacket is marked as goat skin, and was made in Pakistan. It's a G-1 jacket by Sporty's Pilot Shop. I think it's of relatively lower end quality, in no way an Aero, Eastman, or anything like that.
I like both styles of jackets, but I tend to think that the non-elastic/knit cuff jackets like Indiana Jones look and drape better when unzipped or unbuttoned. Knit cuff/elastic jackets can get a bit baggy looking at the sides when unzipped. Also, if you ever come across that particular photo of...
No problem. I don't wear my fedoras with my leather jacket either for that reason, except very rarely. It's just outside my comfort zone (right now, anyway).
This is a very good topic idea. It's clear to me that you don't quite desire to be dressed to the nines in Indy gear:
You want to achieve the general style, but you don't want to be seen in costume...
Well, with that said, do you frequently wear a fedora with your clothes? Absolutely nothing...
I wear size medium jackets, and my jacket is one (size 40-42r fit). If it feels a little baggy on me, especially the sleeves and sides, would it be a bad idea to try doing what you did, but maybe not soaking it as much, then put it in the dryer? Would you say the difference in size on your...
