Well, I like what I see so far. The crown dimensions look great. The brim snap looks similar to a vintage Stetson Panama that I have. I can deal with it.
I'll hold out until we get a report as to how it holds up to rain - and I mean rain - not just a sprinkle. ;)
Thanks Bart. Thanks...
Dang, I think I have the same lid. I really have to get this hat rolling - wash and press the pug and get some side dents in it. Thanks for the inspiration.
I like your black ribbon, Cracker, but I think I'll keep the pug. :D
Have someone drive you up to Dubuque and do a canoe float back to St. Louis. Your Fed will be fine by the time you get back home.
The Big Muddy is very interesting this time of year.
;)
:D
A vintage Mallory today.
But the really cool part is that when I had my hat off I was hanging out with Floyd of Rosedale, The Outland Trophy, the 2010 Orange Bowl trophy,...
It's some sort of conspiracy for sure. I'm not sure who's in charge of it, what their motives might be, WHAT THEY WANT CHANGED or anything like that but I know a conspiracy when I see one.
Nice lid. Good deal.
Here doggy doggy...
Shantung is a trade name for a paper fiber. The only shantung I've ever seen has some sort of a shellac coating. This is what makes it stiff.
I don't mind stiff straw. My Amish farmer's hat is very stiff but it's just woven straw - wheat or oat? I don't know - reinforced with cotton nylon...
I almost forgot  that I have a vintage Stetson Panama that needs some massage - it needs some dents next to the front pinch. I'll give it a spritz and report back. This one has a brim that's pushing 3 inches and snaps like there's no tomorrow. ;) :D
No kidding. Good thing I came prepared *.
I'll also put in a request for head shots.
RLK, I'll be happy model one since you can't possibly have time for them all. ;) :eusa_clap
