Wonderful! I'm going to try to go to this :cheers1: I was trolling around for fashion exhibits, and this looks fab. If they let me, I'll take pics and post them.
Yup, me too. I'll use it as an excuse for a big poufy dress, but I don't dig the sleezy look. Seems you can't get away from it here at Halloween- people wear them everywhere! Just cut the skirt slightly below your butt, add corset or revealing top, and various accessories, and it's an angel...
I have been collecting magazines for about as long as I've been collecting clothing! At first they were mostly Ladies Home Journal and The Delineator from the Edwardian era, but now I collect mostly McCall's from the 1930s and Ladies Home Journal from the 1901-1920. When I can get them...
Inky, I agree with everyone! That's a GREAT photo, and you look fabulous! I love it!
I don't know if I've every posted in this thread! I'm sure everyone's sick to death of seeing this sailor suit, but this is the closest to pinup I've come in a long time. My husband took the picture...
I used to use Sebastian, but it was REALLY stinky. Now I'm happy with good ol' Aquanet, just like Grandma uses! Worked on my wedding day, so I know it will hold my hair. lol
Ditto about Art and Janene. The vintage expo hasn't been the same since they stopped selling there. Some of my very favorite things were from them. I'm sad I never made it to their store.
Thanks again :)
I used a lightweight denim for them. It's nice because, as a friend put it "You could roll down a hill and they'd be fine"... and I wouldn't put it past myself to do that lol
I posted the pattern cover here. I did modify it a bit so the shorts could be worn with more looks...
Some of our favorite presents were gift cards. Lots of our friends and family don't share our interests or tastes, and they really came in handy when we realized we had things left we needed to stock out home with.
COOL! I want to see pics of that! I would love to see what you made from the fabric :)
Yes, I posted a pic just a bit ago on the Show Us Your Patterns thread.
And thanks!
