Very nice. Sounds like the kind of event you wouldn't want to miss!
As for the fog...add snow, ice and slush and that what it was like driving around here today. The fog was incredibly dense in spots.
Went to the St. Lawrence antique market yesterday. Two nice porkpies, a couple of decent stingy brims, a couple of wider brimmed fur felts and a grey homburg. Hats aplenty.
Always. I suspect most avid readers have a number of books on the go at the same time. I usually have 3 or 4. Currently being read:
Tom Sharpe's Wilt Interitance (English satirist)
Michael Crichton's Eaters of the Dead
Philip Mould's The Art Detective (non fiction)
and the...
84 Charlie MoPic.
Exceptional film with outstanding performances by a relatively unknown cast. All done on a small budget. May well be the best film on the American experience in the Vietnam war.
I'm sure we could work something out! It would be nice to go thrifting with someone with similar interests! Probably irritating at times, but interesting.
I have a Pastoralist. I found the crown too low so I rebashed it with a shallow teardrop and front pinch. The crown is still too low, really. I rarely wear it.
And another even luckier find. A set of forties vintage Clarice Cliff dinnerware. I just happened to be looking around when it was wheeled out of the backroom.
And the set itself:
Love those thrift stores.
A recent find.
A Ryrie Brothers ebony hair brush from around 1900. The silver inlayed initial is the same as my wife's. A lucky find.
And a page from the 1900 Ryrie catalogue that features the brush. Ryrie was a high end Toronto retailer at the time.
