Ack. These are terrible scans!! At any rate, I attached a pair of earrings I made to the back of these cards, then wrapped them in tissue paper, and then put them in little sachets I made.
The third one I just made for myself because I loved the picture. I'll probably use it as a...
Not crazy at all! :)
There are a TON of antique shops in this area...North Webster has at least 3 that I can think of, Pierceton has a few, and Warsaw/Winona Lake have a few as well. As far as thrift shops, we only have the standard Goodwill and Salvation Army...there is one other shop...
:offtopic:
I am originally from Ft. Wayne, but after DH and I married, we moved to a little lake town called Syracuse (about 40-45 minutes NW of Ft. Wayne). We make it into Ft. Wayne at least once a week, as my parents still live there...and if we want anything to do, it's either that or South...
EPR25 - I live about 40 minutes outside of Ft. Wayne! It just makes me giddy any time I see some one who lives in the same state, let alone a couple towns over! Lovely trees, btw!
I must have too much free time on my hands today...hehe!

Emily Post on Dress Etiquette, 1922.
Somewhat on topic, I suppose...maybe not! :D
I was reading this over my lunch break and thought it was certainly entertaining, to say the least. Some thoughts still hold true today, I believe...

Thought I might post this link I just found while poking around the Internet...not sure if it's been posted before, but it was new to me :) They have a small list of 1940's recipes, as well as a hairstyle and clothing page, and a page on music and dance...
I recently bought this dress to have as my LBD...from Fashion Bug, no less. It's very comfortable and drapes very nicely.
This is one that I'd purchase if I needed a more formal black dress...
I think I might do the monthly plan at Ancestry.com just to see if I can actually get any use out of it. Lord knows I spend more on eBay and that doesn't really get me anywhere... :)
I think the most fascinating part will be researching my husband's family...his mother is Ukrainian and his...
For the last 8 months or so I've been working on putting my family history/family tree together. It stemmed from my paternal Grandmother having some health problems and realizing that I really have no information about any one on that side of the family...heck, I don't even know when my...
This is what I do and I've gotten many compliments on how "vintage" or "old-fashioned" my hair looks...I use pretty much any type of barrette as long as it matched my hair color, as my hair is too thick to hold pins and they slide out immediately after I have them perfectly in place! I part my...
Well, I guess you'd have to start by looking at the difinition of the word Handsome...
Also defining the word attractive:
By these definitions, I find George Clooney and Russel Crow to be both handsome and attractive, but find Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp attractive. I really think "beauty...
I think it depends on who the "handsome" man in question is, and who is determining if he is in fact handsome.
I find George Clooney handsome because of the whole package - he's smart, he's good looking, he dresses well, and he does good things with his celebrity. You also don't hear much...
Larger-Sized patterns
I came across this Etsy store today and was really impressed with the variety of large-sized vintage patterns for sale. I haven't had much luck on ebay purchasing RTW vintage clothing because I'm larger than the average girly, so this is one of the places I'll be keeping...
When I was a little girl and I'd stay at my Grandparent's house (my mom would take me there in the mornings before she'd leave for work as we lived next door) I always had dreams of being chased by a train with a mean face. I'd run as fast as I could, but never got anywhere...the train never hit...
This isn't a felt hat, but I found this on HGTV.com while searching for simple organza gift bag instructions (I need to read them first, even if I *think* I know what I'm doing!) It's a very pretty hat and matching handbag...
