It has been suggested that I have come across a little too strongly in this thread. My apologies for doing so as it was not my intent. My views about AB are what they are (and are what I've stated), but I'm not interested in being rude about it.

^Most of the people who seem to be complaining haven't ordered from him at all, best I can tell. Yes, he probably should mention the wait time, he probably should have someone fielding all the enquiries, etc.
But, if I was someone who came across the AB website and was considering dropping...
Alpaca has sort of a slick feel to it, very nice stuff. It tends to be somewhat fuzzy, though, and that fabric doesn't seem to have that at all. The Baron is likely correct that it's meant to emulate alpaca or else it would be more explicit about its content.

Clearly, for you choosing the refund is the right choice. But you assume that all of his customers are dissatisfied, which clearly is not the case. And just because you can't imagine "active" reasons to defend Steve, doesn't mean there aren't any...
Again, with AB the process simply is part of it. If you don't like that don't order or you can ask for a refund. Steve clearly has enough demand without needing to implent all the suggestions that are so freely forthcoming.

I'll second the requests for pics of the wool A1.
The GW A1 looks phenomenal. I speak as a great novice in this area, but like Scott, the A1 calls to me a lot more than the A2.
If it's what I think they are then they are there to adjust length. What brand shirt did you buy? I know that both Thomas Pink and Charles Tyrwhitt shirts have this feature, probably some others.
