^Thank you, I also don't see a war of any sort coming up, nor did I mean to offend you. I guess newly coined terms can always be hit or miss, so childfree to some probably has negative connotations, while childless does to others. At least we can all agree that "to each their own" is a good...
You are working from two problematic assumptions here. Firstly, childless conveys the sense that something is amiss for people without children, and for those who want them but can't have them, it certainly is. For others, like myself, it is a conscious and well thought out choice and I reject...
Anything that could poison my animals, racist/sexist imagery or books, and I banished a book on bullfighting my brother in law gave to my husband to the garage - no room for cruelty endorsements.
Keds Sizing?
I am about to purchase my first pair of Keds shoes online, but am really confused by the sizing. I am mostly a UK size 5.5, sometimes a 6, a 7.5 or 8 in US sizes, and a 38.5 or 39 in European sizes.
Do they run true to size, big or small? Should I order up or down?
Interesting. I am childfree and only about 5% on the fence, but I think it's a lifestyle issue for many people. Once they have children they have less time to devote to hobbies (including vintage-related hobbies), going to events, searching far and wide for vintage items, etc. Also, if you are...
^I have no idea, perhaps because she was married multiple times and wanted to keep it simple? Apparently she was also really into nature and the "country look". Maybe Cherry Lips will know.
I just won this Jacques Esterel pattern for a steal and am absolutely giddy! When I went to research him I found a few photos of Brigitte Bardot in a dress he designed for her wedding in pink gingham, and I think this pattern is possibly a copy of the pattern used for that dress.

^The vintage shop they came from actually published a statement explaining that the 11 dresses were beyond repair and could not be sold or worn as they were.
I don't find this any more disturbing than anybody altering their mother's or grandmother's wedding gown in order to fit their taste.
She may regret it one day, but even thenit's not like somebody else would have had a chance to wear or own it, and it would have been in storage somewhere.
I know it wasn't religious, I was just giving an example. What is respect and common courtesy to one person, can be interpreted as completely different to others depending on their political ideology, and I just don't believe that one is necessarily more "right" than the other.
I guess I don't...
I'm clearly the odd one out, but I think it would have been highly inappropriate to say something to him or even to complain to the paper. Not everyone who doesn't sing along or puts their hand on their hearts is clueless or rude, he may have been doing it very consciously. It's not like he was...
I don't agree that it is simple at all to figure out who pays and that it is automatically who issued the invitation. It very much depends not only on gender, but on culture, age and social group. Growing up in Germany, whenever it was someone's birthday, the birthday person would invite their...
Wow, what a find! Never heard of that designer before, but that happened to me once with a Horrockses dress and I still love it most of all of my vintage dresses.
