    MEN of the LOUNGE

For some reason, this picture reminds me of John Lennon, when he was young and dressed like a rocker in the pre-haircut days.

Mrs Pettigrew Lives for a Day

Has anyone seen the preview for Mrs Pettigrew Lives for a Day yet? It looks like a fun homage to 1930s screwball comedies. From IMDB: Guinevere Pettigrew, a middle-aged London governess, finds herself unfairly dismissed from her job. An attempt to gain new employment catapults her into the...

    Atonement ***SPOILERS WARNING***

I saw Atonement last night. This has to be one of the most heart-breaking and beautifully made films that I've seen in a long time. The scene where the British forces are fleeing Dunkirk on the beach had me in tears because it was so horrifying, yet magnificently filmed in one long, beautiful...

    ROME

Did you happen to notice that the latin graffitti on the street walls was often about the characters in the show? I loved that. I really enjoyed Rome - the attention to detail was astounding and the series had a great (albiet sad) ending (unlike Deadwood).

    miss a reenactment = depression??

Leatte, Every year, hubby and i want to go Reading, but something always happens to prevent it - one of us looses our jobs, is sick or we have deaths in the family. It happens with so much regularity, that I've actually started to dread that time of the year. Plus, with buying our...

    BEST OF 2007

Am I the only one that thinks the singer of Arcade fire looks like a tall version of Rik Mayall? lol My favorite new album of 2007 was The Kaiser Chiefs' Yours Truly, Angry Mob.

    Loungers' Pets

This picture makes Tilla look gigantic in comparison - almost like Peanut is full-grown and Tilla is humungous. lol

    Show us what you've made!

I have the same stretch problem when I make hats from acrylic yarn. They stretch out and won't go back into shape. You should try using a wool - Patons has a nice inexpensive Merino wool that is pretty soft that you can find at the craft stores. And Michael's is having a 30% off of all yarn...

    Show us what you've made!

I knitted a pair of cabled fingerless gloves in a cashmere yarn. I like wearing these in the car, the steering wheel is cold in the morning! Sorry you can't see the stitch detail better. The yarn has a sheen to it that reflects my camera flash.

    Military style hair brush

I found an inexpensive one at Sally's Beauty Supply. I keep it in my desk drawer because it isn't as bulky as a full-sized brush. I only use natural bristle military-style brushes on my hair. Having very thick, shoulder-length, wavy hair, I find the brushes to be much less damaging to my...

    Display colors...

I have the same problem. If I have a headache, I can't even stand to look at the site because the text hurts my eyes. Usually, web designers stay away from light on black color schemes because they can trigger migranes in readers.

    What are you wearing today??

Not vintage, but a favorite nonetheless. A black kimono blouse with a black obi belt, worn with a pair of wide-legged black trousers. Vintage leather box purse, no jewelry (no time this morning) except for my wedding ring and a black pair of boots. Tortoise shell cat's eye glasses.

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

Once a complete stranger came up to me in a bar to comment on the fact that I was wearing jeans. She said that I was always so formally dressed, she was surprised to see me in jeans. I have no clue who she was or why she knew how I always dress. lol

    What are you wearing today??

Great look Volatile... I like the slightly askew grin, empty wine glasses and tweed suit. It reminds me of the ever-charming Peter O'Toole or Michael Caine.
