Looking for Retro Linoleum, 1930s-40s can anyone help?

Friends of mine used the industrial linoleum squares (red and black - the kind with the flecks you speak of) and made their own pattern which looked really nice. They did a checkered border around the room and the middle is a solid color. I imagine you could do some sort of pattern with the...

    Halloween Cinema?!

I watched White Zombie the other night. Bela Lugosi in his prime. He had the loveliest, most fluid hands. I found myself staring at them through much of the movie.

    Tonight is Devil's Night...

Same here. No one bothers my house, I think the kids are scared to because they know I'll turn the hose on them if I catch them in my yard. lol Tomorrow night, we'll hand out candy and watch Ghosthunters.

Van Dykes' Restorers (they're online and have a print catalog) has lot's of resotration items for old trunks like handles and leather straps, etc. It's worth checking out if you are finishing an old trunk. I got an old steamer trunk from the 40s at a flea market this summer for $5.00. They...

    Loungers' Pets

My cat Gertie loves to play in water. She jumps in my tub to play with the water left after you shower. Yesterday, I forgot to close the door and found her sleeping the in the tub. This morning I woke up and found a big rubber spider that I had out for Halloween in her water bowl. It's a...

    MST3K

I mentioned a couple other episodes, but my all-time favorite episode is Mitchell. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it! *sings* "Veins throbbing! Heart clogging! Mitchell! *wakka chicka, wakka chicka, wakka chicka*" "Keep your eye on the sammich!"

    liquid eyeliner?

I really like Clinique's gel eyeliner. It's less expensive than the Mac gel liner and just as good. Plus, the Clinque one gives you a brush to apply the liner with. With Mac you have to buy one. The Clinique brush works so well. It's tiny and it's easier to use than the larger Mac brush.

    liquid eyeliner?

Gel liner is much asier to use. It's much more forgiving and you can build the liner up into a defined line that looks just like liquid liner.

How does a girl keep warm?

Kohls had what they called "sweater tights" for sale, with their regular tights. They were on sale last week for $5.00, not sure if they still are. They are made from a thick cotton material, similar to a light sweater. I bought an argyle pair, but they had black and brown as well. They're...

    MST3K

"I like my family as a friend." Some of the best laughs are from the shorts they did. I love the wood shop one that they did (I can't remember the name of it though.) Another favorite has to to be Eegah with Arch Hall Jr. (On a side note - my husband & I met Arch Hall Jr. last year -...

    MST3K

I really miss waking up and watching MST3K on Saturday mornings. It was such a pleasure to stay in bed in my jammies and watch it. I'm tempted to start a game to see if the fellow MST3K nerds ;) out there can guess the movie a quote is from. This one's from one of my all-time favorite...

    Loungers' Pets

Imagine a cat twice as big in a container half that size and you should get a good approximation of what Eddie looked like in a shoe box. lol Tuxedo looks a lot like another childhood friend I had named Oliver. Oliver would walk on a leash and I would take him places with me.

    Loungers' Pets

Part of the reason I love cats so is that they can find amazing amounts of pleasure in the strangest and most nondescript things. They are the ultimate creatures of comfort. I had a white cat as large as Mr. Remy when I was gorwing up that loved to sleep in my small child-sized shoe boxes. I...

I really love this sort of thing, so I think I'll rent the DVD from Netflix for now and purchase it once the error you mentioned is fixed. Thanks for the information! Now if I could just a get a copy of Hollywood Revue of 1929 on DVD....

    The Jazz Singer

Has anyone seen the new TCM DVD release of the Jazz Singer yet? While I'm not particulary crazy about the movie, the DVD has a lot of interesting extras. I saw a commercial on TCM that said the DVD had 4 hours of early Vitaphone shorts included on it. I'm considering buying the DVD just to...
