Do you get trouble over your hats?
Do you get trouble over buying hats from your parents/spouses/etc? For example Johnny Depp is being pressured to get rid of a lot of his hats--He is a vintage fedora collector and wearer as well as you guys know--because his new girlfriend hates them,
Thanks. I shall let the next good one go to you when rilico puts up another wide brimmed hat. I just get nervous about old clothes because years ago people dididn't know as much about toxins as we do and would put all sorts of horrible stuff in clothes, buildings, etc--like Asbestos, lead and...

Won that. I'm curious--It says that there's rubberized cellophane under the sweatband; Is that ok, or a health risk? Just wondering.
Besides being an item of fashion, I believe hats have some very practical uses:
1) Can protect the head from hitting into things above you. For example, if you're coming into a low doorway, rather than bump your head, your hat will sort of alarm you to the bump or cushion the blow. For...
It's like this. I love those small mustaches that guys like Marshall and others wore. They're not Pencil mustaches but they're not Hitler mustaches either, and yethey aren't full Tom Selleck staches either. A nice balance of shortness and substance.
1) When did the move away from Double Brested suits with large lapels, to single breasted suits with smaller lapels begin? Same question goes for ties--from wide ties to thinner ones?
2) What are in general some things about men fashion that changed from 1933 to 1964 (just before the British...
Celebrities past and present in hats
Please merge if there's already a thread for this kind of subject. I apologize if there is one.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and his wife Coretta in 1964:
I wish this photographer had went to Brooklyn and taken some shots--would love for my grandparents and great grandparents to turn up in a High Quality collection such as this someday.
My Great Great Uncle (Great Grandpa's brother) during WWII:
As far as I know, he had the generally same style of mustache from well before WWII to at least the late 1950s, if not later.
A group of soldiers with my grandfather (marked as Tony), one of whom has a John Waters-esque...
Bump. Have grown a mustache for a little over a month now, it's curling down over my lips. Will shave it into a more Pyramid/Pencil shape tomorrow and show you guys the results.
Hippies/Rockers with Hats
While Hippies/Rockers of the 60s and later were known more for their hair than anything else, some of them enjoyed wearing a lid on occasion. I've put up three examples here, can you think of any others?
John Lennon
Outside of All in the Family and The French Connection, what are some 1970s shows and movies in which the main character wore a hat? I ask because the '70s are generally considered to be after the "era" of the hat and yet as we see with Popeye Doyle andArchie Bunker that a main character or hero...
I have kind of an oval-ish face with just a bit of a double chin...The result of weight gain (though I intend to lose the weight and get my angular features back). I was curious if bigger or small brims go better with rounder faces?
