I always heard the rule "It's easier to take in than let out", so if the cut of the skirt is complicated in any way I think I'd go with the size 18 and make up a muslin, then fit it to yourself and use the muslin as a pattern. It's a pain, but at least for your first pattern it will help you...
I was watching that one, too, but deleted it after it hit over my price range :( Totally gorgeous and something you don't see pop up very often anymore. We can commiserate together.
Yay! Thanks to an unexpected good weekend of etsy sales, combined with FINALLY finding catalogs in my budget I have some new things to add to my personal research library. It's going to be like Christmas when they get here. :D SO excited! They're from 1934-1940.
Thanks so much, gals! :D
Miss Becky, I got the fabric on Etsy. It's vintage and I just had enough to sqeeeezzze out this blouse. It's one of my favorites because of the cheerful print!
Thank you, gals!
I admit I'm glad to be back to vintage sewing. It's kind of like instant gratification compared to historical costumes. lol
I made this little skirt over the weekend. I'd been wanting to make it for a long time and even had the fabric set aside so it was time! I have more...

Lovely things, everyone!
Amy Jeanne, that's adorable. Does look almost the same as the other pattern!
miss_smith, I love that cute little outfit, especially the little ruffle. Really flattering neckline, too!
Miss_Becky, that looks amazing so far! Congrats on your first commission!
I had...
Interesting. Thanks for the heads up! I've heard mixed reviews of their patterns, but I haven't used them myself. Did you find the sizing accurate on the ones you purchased?
