    How to travel with hats

Actually, I'm quite happy with the Telex, although it occurs to me that it's not exactly vintage! I've never used ANR. Seems like overkill to me. Can you still hear things you want to hear, like sudden but subtle changes in engine noise?

    How to travel with hats

Actually, I tossed out my expensive David Clark in favor of a much more comfortable Telex. The DCs made me feel like my head was in a vise.

    How to travel with hats

Since my headphones interfere with the fit, I just set it on the copilots seat if I'm alone...otherwise in the back seat...hehe.

    Let's take the PULLMAN!

I'm in the DC area and would like to do something like this. Not so sure about the "couple" thing though. Got a wife but she doesn't really share my love of days gone by.

Do you think there could be a second Great Depression?

Corporate America sends it's high paying middle class jobs overseas and replaces tham with sub-minimum wage Walmart jobs. American Government borrows money from China and squanders trillions of borrowed dollars on needless wars. Corporate America with the assistance of the American...

    Flying Attire

I saw a P51 on trade-a-plane yesterday for $2.4 million. Darn, wish I'd bought one when they were $7K with a spare engine in a crate. Nope, I don't fly commercial anymore. Unfortunately, there are some places I just can't go, since it takes just too long in a small aircraft, but I just won't...

    What's Your Vintage Skill Set?

I can repair just about anything electrical, rib-stich the fabric covering on an old biplane wing, navigate an aircraft (or boat) by dead reckoning, plaster a wall, drive a manual transmission, fly an airplane with a tailwheel (as opposed to modern airplanes with nosewheels - although I can fly...

Proposing Something New to the Fedora Lounge.

As a newbie I'm not really up to speed on these things, but I only found this since I happened to click on "New Posts." I rarely read "News" since I come here to escape much of that stuff! Maybe The Observation Bar would be more appropriate?

    fusing modern/vintage styling

Greetings, 6StringShooter, As a newbie myself, I can tell you that my own preference is for modern but classically-styled (not necessarily vintage-looking, but not the sort of thing you'd find in GQ) suits, vintage or vintage-styled ties (the fabric is just too thick on modern ties to tie a...
