Thanks OG and John. OG, there were 2 bodies that Garrett negotiated from John Galt, I got one and Garrett traded the other to Bob for services since it ended up being too big for him. Let's just say that Bob isn't willing to part with that body, he's not only a hatter, but a hat collector ;) -

Alan, it's nice to finally know what to call mine, I never was able to translate "Tateyori" on the tag and assumed it was a prefecture of Okinawa. The suppleness of a straw weave this old is amazing to me, it's a real tough hat, I feel no need to pamper it. Man I love the even patina on yours... -

The Pomare is also kool because it was printed in Hawaii. It also looks like the Kalaheo was made by RJC, unless the buttons have been replaced. Seems like all your shirts were made in Hawaii too, that's a point I like a lot. Your thrift store seems to be a good source Bob!- mikespens
