I agree that there does seem to be a progression that a lot of us go through when it comes to what hat we buy - from 'starter' hats to cover the bases in colour coordinating and getting a sense of what works, to mid-grade for the next step up in quality, and then onto something pretty good...
Very cool look, Mario..... Am always a fan of the 'fedora/waistcoat/coat' look, as distinct from 'jacket'. Has shades of Wild West gun-slinger, but not too much for general wear.
Isn't it nice that the season is turning now, to allow us to get back into long coats and felt hats! Beautiful...
Hi Torpedo,
Will let you know more when I've worn it for a bit, and will post some pictures.
Actually, I already think of it as my 'Torpedo' hat, as it was a picture that you posted a few months ago in the 'What are you wearing today' that got me intrigued by the idea of a brown bowler...
Christys Wool Felt Bowler
Hi all,
Picked up a Christys Wool Felt Bowler (in Brown) the other day - fancied something a bit different and quirky (for me!). The wool felt was available and pretty cheap in comparison to a 'proper' fur felt, so I thought I'd give it a try.....
Anyone have...
Beautiful hat, JtL. I may be biased at the moment, having a couple of Adams on the way from johnnyphi, but they just seem to do such nicely balanced proportions and colours, as evidenced by your pic. Even matches your eyes!
Nice tie, by the way; Paisley, but not quite the usual...
Like the new avatar, Billyspew. V. subtle and arty but 'revealing' at the same time. No question as to which brand you put your money behind.....
I have to say I admire your energy and single-mindedness in pursuing all the Adam info, which you've so kindly shared with the Lounge over the...
Chiliarches 7 1/4 Mallory
Also a greenish-brown Mallory with a red ribbon and gold edge binding...the felt is paper thin and extremely soft. This one may end up on the classifieds because it's a 7-1/4. The stitching on the sweat is about 2/3 gone so I will probably try to fix it before I post...
Warbaby's avatar
:offtopic: Warbaby, just spotted your new (?) avatar photo. It's one that I've had in mind for an avatar (whenever I eventually got around to posting one). Great image, isn't it? It just cracks me up every time I look at it :). Some lovely JHL material around that I may...
Billy's new Adams
:rage: :rage: :rage: I might have known that you were buying up all those lovely size 7 1/4 Adams that I'd love to own..... :rage: :rage: :rage:
Seriously, some great colours and proportions in there, especially the Newport.
"The boy done good"..... again!:eusa_clap...
Adam logos
Many thanks for this sort of info, Billyspew, and for posting so much on this thread. I've got a couple of Adams' on the way from Jonnyphi - didn't check out his stock until most of the gems had gone :eusa_doh: - but very much looking forward to joining the Adam Alley soon.
You...
For chanteuseCarey
Just to show that I'm not offended by your preference for a back view of me:p , here's the watch you asked about. Sorry in advance for the quality of the pics - still trying to get the hang of all this 21st century technology.....:(
By the way: Edinburgh, what a wonderful place to live! Was there last year with the Riley and plan to return in 2010 http://www.padmagruen.de/galerie/photostack/galleries/Riley_RM/2008/7843_forthbridge.jpg
Cheers,

Sapphire's car. :offtopic: What can I say except..... BEAUTIFUL...
Thanks Bugsy,
Very kind of you to say so.
All I need to do now is figure out how to get pictures to show up directly in a post, rather than having to have a link to photobucket. Any helpful person got any advice? Please bear in mind that I'm a techno-phobic Luddite.....

The 'other' picture.....
Hello CC (if I may be so bold as to call you that!),
Thankyou for the kind words. Funny you should mention about liking the 'other' picture in the mirror - people often say that a view from the back is my best angle in photographs :(
Will get the camera out...
Hello all,
Finally got myself a digital camera and (hopefully) figured out photobucket etc, so thought I'd have a first bash at posting something with pictures. Here's what I was wearing today.....
Moonstone Fed IV Deluxe, 1960's (I think) small houndstooth check waistcoat and trousers...
IMHO the brown has a lot of potential to look great. Looks like a nice fabric, with its open texture and all the colour within it. Brown can often be a really hard colour to get to work, and is very skin/hair tone sensitive, but when it does work I think it can be very striking and...
Definitely works for you, Mario - no need to be worried about wide brims! (Not sure a sombrero would work for you though..... :p )
Nice 'Raindogs' look with the striped shirt/jacket combo, by the way. I assume you're a TW fan, judging by the photos on your wall in previous shots...
Quite happy without.....
Haven't had television since 1990. Have to say I don't miss it at all. Just prefer reading, conversation, listening to music etc, plus keeping tabs on the Lounge! Don't know when I'd find the time to watch anything if I did have one.....
Living near the centre of...
