Aero Board racer, hand warmer pockets or not?

I like the pockets on the Cafe Racer I have and use them all the time. So far (in three years of use - might be too early to tell) they haven't puffed out or spoiled the line. On the other hand, period-accuracy is something that I don't take into consideration. I rarely use front jeans...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

5th (6th?) week of indoor lockdown - at least the jackets are getting some indoor/balcony wear... Local govt-issue covid tests come in their own lil' biohazard bag (sort of off-putting...).

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

The (Mariner) Vicenza's really grown on me - it's 'warmer' like goat, but has a dry hand - it's just begun to show a lighter base colour in areas of wear. If I wore it non-stop (tricky now that summer's coming), I think it would develop some nice gradations in colour. The cordovan always seems...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Y yeah, it's not great, but I thought it would happen, so I stockpiled non-perishable food and deep-froze a lot (A LOT) of meat. I have also online-taught my whole building how to blanch and freeze vegetables (not many people here ever cook) and I can also work from home, but... ...I should...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Lockdown extended for ten more days. I have easily enough basic food, clean water and seasonings, but I had not accurately laid in the amount of Italian red wine, bracing scotch or cold beer I would need in this eventuality. Nothing for it but to sit around drinking strong coffee and listening...

White distressing on tea core Shinki?

I am throwing myself on my sword, right now. My Highwayman showed bloom after 7 years... :). The Vicenza after a particularly heavy rain this winter. Both instances solved by wiping down with cloth. I don't think it persisted.

White distressing on tea core Shinki?

The mark's probably bloom. It probably isn't mould. A damp cloth will sort it, but it might take three or four 'passes' - wipe it down, and keep doing so. I've had this happen on CXL, Vicenza and Steerhide jackets; it isn't quality-related and is not a defect. Japanese workmanship is usually...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I think I may have had about 16 Covid tests now. Aero Maxwell day, and coffees on the balcony. I did my own repairs to the lining which was starting to fray. I just stitched it closed, messily and with no regard for aesthetics.

Third week + of Shanghai lockdown. Wearing the Aero Mariner on trips to the balcony for cups of tea.

    Aero jackets worth it?

It really depends on a lot of factors - particularly, what you are willing to spend and what you expect from an item. Personally, apart from one zip issue that fixed itself, I've not had any problem with any of the Aeros I've bought over 12 or 13 years. One mis-spec was immediately rectified...

Definitely. That was a fantastic album. Ha! That just really brought it all back to me. And Carl McCoy in 'Hardware'.

    Broken Stitch

I have a couple of broken stitches. One is in the lapel of a cafe racer (never worsened; the stitching is also 'internal', too, so the outer stitching is not a huge problem) and in the back of the neck on a Highwayman - the HWMN stitch break is seven years old now and it hasn't unwound other...

Can a older men wear a motor( double rider) jacket As a fashion jacket?

I think you should wear whatever you like wearing. Weight is a key factor in whether anything looks good, but feeling happy wearing a thing is the most important bit. I like old, bashed up jackets more than shiny new ones, but that's just me.

Himel Bros - Still in Business?

We're normally more energised by criticism and negativity than we are by admiration and congratulation. That's what makes the internet so weird- it's a large billboard for our grottier characteristics. A virtual venting.

    Explaining the Aero Fit.

"Mankind invented mathematics, antibiotics, spaceships. But someone still considers leather to be a complex material :)Extracting, standardizing and selling oil/hydrocarbons globally is a more complex undertaking. And this is just one of countless examples." And yet none of us foresaw this line...

    Explaining the Aero Fit.

Working in leather is not as precise as working in cloth. You're always going to get 'tolerances' in sizing, even more so with handmade leather items. When you think about it, two hides aren't ever going to be exactly the same in terms of thickness, stretch, hand, etc. 'Good' fit is a laudable...
