I don't mean to be too terribly naughty, but Lady Day, I'd love to see more pictures. Oh and see you in them in a full outfit.
I'm just a picture lover, like everyone else. The pictures from the QM event kept me busy for hours. Sigh!
I've never broken a heel. With my size 10 beauties, I've never been lucky enough to find a vintage pair, but I have had the rubber soles of heels fall off which make it feel like you are running around with a flat tire.
Such a drag!
I just discovered the most gorgeous scent from Diptyque, that store that is best known for its expensive and yummy smelling candles.
I love Oleana the best right now. Although Do'son smells pretty lovely too! Check it out!
Wow! And I must add--those socks look pretty darn saucy on too!
Enough to make me put down the ole knitting needles for awhile!
Amazing job and terrific tutorial to boot!
Hurrah for Lady Day!
I have this pattern that makes them so easy--seriously--just knitting a tube on two needles. And the heel is easy peasy! Cat Bhordi has this book called Socks Fly On Two Needles that walks you through it. Once you make your first pair, you are hooked!
And alot of yarn stores have a sock...
Good luck!
I'm a sock knitter myself. They really are easy to knit. Good old fashion mindless knitting. 10 hours later you have a pair of socks.
One word of advice: be careful with the seam underfoot. It can easily rub if you are not careful.
Looking forward to seeing pictures!
Favorite winter vintage outfits

Another goodie is vanilla sugar. Just stick some vanilla beans in white sugar for a week and the sugar is infused with all of its vanilla goodness. Wonderful for coffee and homemade hot chocolate.
Oh--and you can make your own hot chocolate dry mix too!

Ditto that! I always find that my posture is better when I'm dressed up!
I was an early bloomer, so I developed a naughty slouching habit that I'm still trying to break today. I think my parents told me to "stand up straight" at least three times a day during my teenage years. Sigh!
Oof! I don't like putting mascara on my lower lashes because it just seems to run off and make me look like I have dark circles under my eyes. Who needs that?
I just saw the first picture a friend sent me from my wedding a couple of weeks ago and it's enough to make me want to cry--I sweated...
I think it all just boils down to being polite and making people feel comfortable.
My favorite etiquette story is the one about Queen Victoria who had dinner with a visiting sultan who was completely lost in all of the victorian layers of dining etiquette. When the finger bowl were placed in...
Amen!
RE: Walking in heels--well, it is an art. I was taught to walk in heels in a certain way to help with the clomp-i-ness. Yes yes to the ballet trick of string at the top of your head, etc. But what really helps is if you do a little pelvic tilt--like a model and put the weight of your...
