    Oh no..dishpan hands!!

While watching a commercial about dishwasher detergent, I remembered this horrible malady from back when I was a kid in the 60s. Since we Loungers probably hand wash more than use dishwashers, are we keeping this scourge alive?:D

    Cuffed trousers' length

I've always been under the impression that cuffed trousers should "break" on top of the shoes.[huh]

    Plain colored ties

Try abandoning the Windsor knot in favor of the Four-in-Hand. A much smaller knot that goes well with narrow collars and collar bars.:D

    Wearing Crusher Hat

Until Gen. Curtis LeMay took over in Theater and changed the bombing doctrine. He ordered all guns and pressurization equipment be removed and all missions flown below 10,000 with incendiary bombs. Those fire-bomb raids burned the heart out of Japan.

Smoking a cigarette like a cigar - no inhaling?

That was the way I weaned myself off cigarettes. From the day I decided to quit I forced myself to smoke without inhaling for one month. By then I could stop completely and replace two packs a day with one cigar, also not inhaled. You don't have to inhale to enjoy the flavor of good tobacco.

    Black or brown belt...

Just as you would avoid dissimilar metals (i.e. Gold tie clip with sterling cuff links) you should avoid dissimilar leathers when dressing in "Real clothes." In sports clothes all bets are off.:D

DNA may ID bodies in mass grave.

    Tie clip / tie bar

In my family, if it holds the tie to your shirt it is a "tie clip"; if it hold your collar together under the tie it is a "tie bar." We get very specific in my family.:D

REPRO flight jackets a little too good?

Many years ago I worked with a former Navy TBF pilot who told me that when his Carrier returned to the States for demob, the Pilots had to turn in any unpersonalized G-1s and all issue watches. He saw G-1s burned in bonfires and watches crushed by road rollers.:rage:

    "Hollywood killed us all."

A deeply flawed misanthrope who damaged far too many impressionable people. R.I.P. indeed.
