I know some people don't like them. Some I don't care for either. But I have gotten bored tying the same style knot for over 25 years. I have a few of the variations I like and have started using them.

Has anyone tried different knots on their ties rather than the standard Winsors, Pratt knot or 4 in hand? Here's one I tried recently. There are some Youtube videos that show a plethora of them. Many of them will work even on a vintage tie despite them being shorter. It has added some fun...
Great article indeed. It really highlights what puts John Chapman's jackets at the peak of the market. That attention to detail that John has, is in my opinion unequaled. This article really brings that out. Way to go John!!

I just picked this up off ebay. I counted around 9 vuelta's and it looks in great shape. I hope I didn't get auction fever and end up with buyers remorse.

Interesting because the pic I posted I copied off of Aero's website just today. Go figure. Well if they changed it then that's great, but they really should update their pics to show it as it is now. I have held one in my hands and it's pocket was just like the pic.

The Bronco from Aero is a quality jacket to be sure. However the pattern of the pocket is too small and looks funny. I don't know why they don't change it. It would improve the jackets looks tremendously. Compare it to a Goodwear and you can see it for yourself.

Here's a pocket comparison between the one on Johns website, the one I just bought and a Bill Kelso Seal Brown Star Sportswear. It kinda clinched it for me.

Good question. First clue was that the seller said it came from a guy that makes them in Seattle. John is based in Seattle. Second, I already have one Goodwear and John does certain details that a few other repro makers don't. For instance, I have an Aero Real Deal and while it's a great...
Well I don't know if this will cheer you up, but look at it this way. Most people become experts on what to buy from buying the wrong thing. I've bought plenty of lemons over the years and have learned a lot from it. I can pass my knowledge from my mistakes on to my friends so they don't have...
No pics of me in it yet but the fit couldn't have been better if I had custom ordered it. I was told by another member that this is Johns Shinki horsehide and I have to say it is fantastic. I have a horsehide jacket from the 50s and this Shinki horsehide feels, looks and has the weight and...
So I always go to the Portland antique show and you never know what you'll find. I see some A-2s and some G-1s and look them over. I see this one and it looks really good. I ask the vendor if it's a reproduction and he says yes, I bought it from a guy who says he got it from a guy in Seattle. I...
I'm at the Portland antique show and just found a Goodwear Star A-2 for a fraction of what they new. Fit is perfect and it's in great shape. Woo hoo! I'll post pics later.

Say, that isn't too bad! In fact, as much as I'm amazed that I can actually say this about a modern Stetson, it really looks good. I hope they used a decent felt that won't bleed or taper up to a dunce hat shape after it gets out in the weather. If they did that too, then this is a great deal...
I must be getting old, I accidently posted this in the Borsalino thread. Sorry about that, I deleted it. I found this Stetson Western style Nutria at Goodwill for $10.00. Felt was in perfect shape, very soft and pliable, not stiff like some western bodies. Liner pretty clean and shows the...
I recently picked this strat up at an antique show. It's in unworn condition. I was going to take a few more pics of the inside when I dropped my camera right on the extended lens. So no more camera. Here it is. Nice gray with a touch of blue.
