    Dating Etiquette

I actually got yelled at by one female person for holding the door open for her. (Heck, she was right after me -- if it had been a GUY I'd've held the door.) A friend later told me I should have said something along the lines of "I was taught to hold the door for a lady. I apologize for...

All You Need to Know About Hat Etiquette

Embarrassing question. What does it mean, exactly, to be "under arms" (and how is that different indoors from out)?

Th 8 Most Wildly Irrisponsible Vintage Toys

Man, I loved Jarts. And clackers. And I had the Creepy Crawlers -- and the soldier-making version of the same product, too.

Funny, odd, or the most absurd ads you have ever seen....

That one with the kids with the knives at the door reminds me a lot of the "ad spoofs" that we did in Photoshop on another, much more evil, forum. For example, here are a few I did:

    Show us your Guns!

I love it. I originally wanted a P99, but this is the updated version of that. The only substantial difference is the PPQ doesn't have decocker on the slide, as does the P99. It's a great piece. As an answer for Atticus: I personally have never liked the 1911. I don't know why -- the...

    Show us your Guns!

Thought I'd throw in my collection. The Ruger LC9 is my standard carry piece: The Walther PPQ is my primary piece -- for home protection, and carry when possible: This is my Bersa T22 -- for plinking and just having fun: This is the Walther P38. I've always wanted one of these, and...

Vintage Things That Have Disappeared In Your Lifetime?

Oh, COWABUNGA!!! I must order one of those things. :) (For my cigars, I'm a big fan of long wooden matches that give me time to light the thing right.)

Film/television speech patterns from the 1920s to 1960s

I love that observation. :) Actually, the thing that strikes me about actors today is how many of them WHISPER and project their whispered lines -- maybe it sounds cool, but people don't normally talk like that. "I'm BATMAN!" "I'm sorry, who? Speak UP."

Bob, you should get an extra-large fedora you can permanently mount to the hard hat. It would be seriously stylin'. :) Tony

I've always kinda wanted that atomic energy kit. Sorta like... if chemistry sets worked for junior mad scientists, imagine what they could do with a REAL cloud chamber.... And what proto-geek could pass up a vial of uranium?

Tv shows - Poirot , Campion , Foyles War

Same here. I started reading the books AFTER watching the show. (Basically, the show is what introduced me to the character in a "hey, this is worthwhile!" way.) When I read all the books, it was Hutton's voice that narrated in my mind. Made the reading go slower than I usually read, but damn...
